We need a coup

Whether it is an internal Tory overthrow or another political group, we need the current criminal incompetents removed from power. They are willfully causing needless C19 deaths and in-full-view pocketing tax payer money with only the flimsiest of attempts to pretend they're not.

I'm no Tory (god forbid) but bloody hell, what we need now is a Margaret Thatcher to sort this unholy mess Boris and his buddies are making.

MaizieD Sun 25-Oct-20 20:29:41

I didn't find any of it offensive, Alegrias. How can the truth cause offence?

M0nica Sun 25-Oct-20 20:28:53

There is a review of the recent biography of Boris in this weeks Spectator, a magazine he used to edit.

Among the things said in the review are His lies are too numerous to list. But it means that anyone taking Boris's word for anything is a fool. Elsewhere someone says of him
you always knew precisely where you stood with Boris, because he always let you down

Later on he is descibed as A man of remarkable gifts flawed by an absence of conscience, principle ot scruple

Now this is a review in a magazine, which Boris once edited and could be considered to be on his side. If this is what his friends say about him...................................

This post contains words that some people will find offensive.

In reply to Janpt

Boris Johnson has been shown to be lying on several occasions. He lied about the EU’s plans for bananas and, of all things, coffins, when he was the Brussels correspondent for the Telegraph. He wrote an article for the Spectator in which he blamed drunken Liverpool fans for the 1989 Hillsborough disaster and suggested that the people of the city were wallowing in their victim status. He denied having affairs with a Spectator columnist while he was in Michael Howard’s government, when it came out that this was true he refused to resign and was sacked.
He has called Muslim women letterboxes and gay men “tank topped bumboys”. He referred to Africans as "piccanninies" with "watermelon smiles".
He’s has more affairs than I can mention and will not disclose how many children he has. Jennifer Arcuri has just admitted he had an affair with her and he treated her company preferentially.
Then there is the £350m bus advert.

I don’t think he’s a good example to anyone, is he?

Ilovecheese Sun 25-Oct-20 19:50:23

Not sure that going back to work when not fit to do the job is a good example to set.

The only real concerning matter to do with Angela Raynor muttering ‘scum’ is that a dozen MP’s (Conservative) have been targeted online, at their offices and at home by lowlives
Phoning and emailing death threats, graffiti saying Tory Scum. Over a hundred MP’s have contacted Starmer to make sure Raynor watches her language in Parliament, because language has consequences.
If you use the language of the streets, you get the action of the streets.

Good to hear that action is being taken over this. What an example to young people she has given.

What an example our PM sets to people, not just young people!

Getting back to work in spite of having been very ill with Covid !!

Janpt says "I hope you are all proud of Angela Rayner and the way she behaved in parliament. It says it all that someone like that should have been trusted with that role."
Well yes, proud of her for sticking up for hungry children in a place full of MPs who had eaten well at the HoC subsidised work cafeteria.

Not quite so proud of her for letting the dread word "scum" pass her lips, but she did have the grace to instantly apologise, and as she been in the same position in her childhood, she had a personal and acute interest in the subject.

As for not being fit to be "trusted with that role" isn't someone who had a hungry childhood ideal to speak up for this generation of hungry children?

Galaxy Sun 25-Oct-20 17:40:31

Yes and the list is much longer than just the word trisher mentioned, I will not use the word that johnson used for gay men but I assume he can therefore be blamed for attacks on gay men using the logic in this thread.

trisher Sun 25-Oct-20 17:34:38

It seems rather unbalanced to me that a woman understandably upset about children facing hunger (something she has experienced), should be castigated for referring to Tory politiciansas "scum," and immediately apologising, whilst the man who is PM of this country described Muslim women as "letter boxes" in a written article and has never withdrawn the remark. Of course the women who suffered as a result of his language are not high profile MPs and are probably used to racial abuse anyway.

Janpt, your political views are as we both know very different than mine. We are both entitled to express them on this site and why on earth you think you will be 'removed' I can't imagine.
When you refer to Angela Raynore and "the way she behaved in Parliament" I'm assuming you are referring to the word "scum". It says it all that someone like that should have been trusted with that role

Is muttering the word 'scum' and quickly apologising the only criticism you have of Angela Raylor? I didn't vote for her as deputy but so far so ok. I admire her for surviving her difficult childhood. We need more people like her in Parliament and many fewer privately educated, privileged men.

Thank you for your post. I appreciate your valid comments and sorry if my opinion went over the top on this topic.

Why on earth should you be removed? I see nothing in your posts very bothering tbh. Yes they are cross and yes you aren’t very well mannered, but apart from that nothing to warrant your removal.

Janpt

Thanks for showing some support. It's a bit lonely out here as one of the very few right wingers. I didn't know at first just how out numbered I would be. Perhaps I should have found a different site. Sorry to appear so ill mannered. Some posts just bring out the worst in people.

GagaJo Sun 25-Oct-20 15:51:23

Will you STOP banging on about Labour? They are irrelevant right now.

I think, Janpt, if you read my original post, you will see I said 'an internal Tory overthrow or another political group'.

At NO point did I mention Labour. You did that.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 25-Oct-20 15:42:25

I assume you are hoping fervently for a Trump win?

We all decide if we consider the government vis a vis the cabinet is up to the job. It is called democracy.

This government has almost certainly the most incompetent cabinet we have had the misfortune to experience.

That together with its propensity to throw money at its donors and supporters is a disaster for the U.K.

That is your opinion which you are entitled to have. Have you however taken into account the unprecedented situation the country is in and do you honestly feel that the Labour Party could deal with it any better. We have already witnessed the quality of the Deputy Leader of the party and it gives no reassurance on that. Quite the opposite in fact. She shows no knowledge of what counts as acceptable behaviour from someone in that role in parliament. Either that or she just doesn't care.

I don't care what your views of either Angela Raynor or the LP might be.

I'm not surprised at that. You're obviously tarred with the same brush !!
