Obviously, the Oprah interview with the Sussexes.

I will because I want to hear it straight from the source rather than media spin/interpretation so that I can comment later on what I saw and heard, when discussions start up as they surely will.

However, I don’t think they should be doing an interview at all (I felt the same about Diana and Charles interviews) these things end up backfiring against them.

I’m not a royalist but I will watch it because I’m nosey and I want to see what they are whinging about

GagaJo Mon 08-Mar-21 11:06:02

lemsip

GagaJo Really? (You can't take an educated guess? He says stuff like that in public,)

your educated guess is wrong.

Ah sorry lemsip. Didn't realise you had a hotline to the palace.

?

GagaJo Mon 08-Mar-21 11:06:58

Oh sorry if that came across as ranty, NellG. It wasn't meant to and certainly wasn't intended to be directed at you! Apologies.

GagaJo Mon 08-Mar-21 11:13:48

My real opinion about it all is that Meghan and Harry have a fairly limited shelf life, and that they are probably aware of that. Right now, they are of interest to big money organisations in the US. They are in need of garnering their own wealth, to enable them to live the way Harry is used to and she aspires to. So they are taking advantage of their notoriety.

Let's face it. In 5 years, no one would be interested enough in them to do an interview like this.

They are making hay while they can. She is building a life for them. Because, frankly, while I like Harry, he isn't used to the cut and thrust of the world of work / business / selling himself. Getting them where they need to be, to be wealthy Americans, needs drive and it needs to be done while people are interested in them.

If you compare them to Fergie and how she tried to infiltrate America, they ARE doing it better.

I will wait to see if I think they have burned any relationship bridges until after I watch the interview, although as some have said, I don't think I will be able to stand watching it all in one go. It isn't the sort of thing I EVER watch, so it will have to be in small chunks. And as I'm not in the UK, it won't be anytime soon that I get to watch it, either.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 08-Mar-21 11:14:09

Probably not, whatever she says, I just think "actress"!! Haver seen so much this morning and tomorrow will be full of post mortems why waster time watching it again?

Smileless2012 Mon 08-Mar-21 11:16:48

Why should I need to make an educated guess Gagajo? You seem to be more than happy to make one yourself but I'm not.

Making allegations that are unsubstantiated and cannot be verified or defended because the person or people who are supposed to have done or said these things have not been named, are nothing but hot air.

If you read my post you'll see that my annoyance was that M 'put it out there' that Kate had made her cry, and then said it wouldn't be fair to go into details as Kate had apologised to her. So, why mention it at all?

If there's any truth in these allegations then names should be made public as well. Let those who have been accused have the same rights as the rest of us, the right to defend themselves if they so wish.

We're now expected to believe after being told that Archie's first word was crocodile that he also says hydrate. Strange that this first word had 3 syllables.

There are people tweeting that Diana is "speaking through Archie" because he says "drive safe". You just couldn't make it up and why would you want too.

Polarbear2 Mon 08-Mar-21 11:20:26

Have you seen this? Makes for interesting (or sickening) viewing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_j35t3GCsk
It’s an interview with 4 royal experts filmed before they had seen the video but still giving their opinions on something they hadn’t even seen. It’s class.

GagaJo Mon 08-Mar-21 11:24:20

My grandsons first word was dinosaur. It didn't sound like dinosaur, but we knew what it was. We have an adorable video of him 'reading' a book and pointing and using the word repeatedly.

Smileless2012 Mon 08-Mar-21 11:27:33

Why would it be sickening Polarbear? M's friends have been giving their opinions based on what they've been told, not what they've seen before they saw the interview.

tickingbird Mon 08-Mar-21 11:27:58

If it’s on Youtube it must be genuine!!

Smileless2012 Mon 08-Mar-21 11:28:31

How old was your grandson Gagajo?

Lucca Mon 08-Mar-21 11:28:56

tickingbird

If it’s on Youtube it must be genuine!!

What do you mean ?

GagaJo Mon 08-Mar-21 11:31:25

Umm, under a year. I don't remember exactly. He had quite delayed speech, but not comprehension.

Polarbear2 Mon 08-Mar-21 11:41:53

Smileless. Tickingbird. Watch it. It’s genuine. And to me it’s just an example of the people they bring onto our tv every night to give their ‘expert’ opinions when they know nothing - they just speculate and a large % of the viewing public believe it.

NellG Mon 08-Mar-21 12:11:08

No it wasn't ranty Gagajo, I'm just interested in the different viewpoints and what underpins them. I didn't think it was aimed specifically at me, so no worries.

cornishpatsy Mon 08-Mar-21 12:24:03

There are people tweeting that Diana is "speaking through Archie" because he says "drive safe".

Presumably, that means, don't get into a car when the driver has been drinking and wear a seat belt.

Calendargirl Mon 08-Mar-21 12:54:42

FannyCornforth

Calendargirl 'not much of a hoo ha'?
Don't you believe it!
We ain't seen nothing yet!

Surely now they are in USA, the new baby’s birth won’t attract as much attention back in the UK as Archie’s did though?

Will the Palace still make an announcement about it now they are no longer working royals?

I assume H&M will settle for a very private home birth this time.

FannyCornforth Mon 08-Mar-21 12:56:54

Calendargirl ah yes, I see what you mean. We seem to be talking at cross purposes re the US and the UK. smile

Bridgeit Mon 08-Mar-21 13:39:10

News Flash, just announced that Prince Harry has clarified that neither the Queen or Prince Philip were the ones who made the/a comment about what colour his & Meghans’s baby might be.

Maggiemaybe Mon 08-Mar-21 13:47:06

And Oprah has confirmed it too, Bridgeit. So the gossips can train their sights on a new target now.

Pantglas2 Mon 08-Mar-21 13:47:40

So much for your ‘educated’ guess GagaJo?

Bridgeit Mon 08-Mar-21 13:48:01

It’s all so very sad isn’t it.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 08-Mar-21 13:50:13

Unfortunately in trying to clear the air and put their side of the story they have enabled the media and many others to continue to make unsubstantiated assumptions.

Rosie51 Mon 08-Mar-21 13:54:05

And that's what is so despicable about the part revelation, the smear hangs over the whole family. GagaJo made her educated guess it was Philip and I assume she was not alone in that leap, but it was wrong. Will the next person to be a suspect get cleared by Harry if they're innocent? If you're not prepared to name the guilty party then it should have been kept private. It's just so unfair to everyone but the guilty party.

I won’t be watching, I don’t want to watch someone playing the victim. From the clips I’ve seen, I have to say, I didn’t realise she was such a good actress.

Not that good an actress. People have seen through her.?
