Mr Johnson and Mr Cummings

Demonic has suggested that Mr Johnson has been not entirely honest about his communications with James Dyson.

I recognise many people believe Mr J was ‘doing his best for the country in a pandemic’ when he offered to sort the tax for Mr Dyson. But, do we want ethical government or not?

This is nothing compared to the cost of refurbishing the Lord Chancellor's official residence in the House of Lords. Back on 1997 Lord Irvine of Lairg admitted that the costs amounted to around £650,00 which included £59,000 on new wallpaper made to the original design by AWN Pugin. Apparently this apartment is occasional open to the public which the PM's flat isn't.

From what I’ve seen of the pictures of the flat when the Camerons lived there it looked really tasteful and neutral.

It seems that there are now allegations that Johnson gave the nod to the football super league from which he has since tried to distance himself. It just goes on and on, doesn’t it?

MayBee70 Mon 26-Apr-21 00:53:08

I can’t believe that no one knew about this super league till a few days ago. And still find it interesting that Johnson becomes the saviour of British football just before the local elections.

Johnson doesn’t give a monkeys about what people think , he’s proved to be teflon coated so far, but let’s hope that’s wearing thin. Those Johnson fans who worship his ruffled mop and think “he is doing his best”, obviously do not wish, or are unable, to think critically about his performance, which in many areas has been dire, deceitful and even verging on the corrupt.

Blair comes more to mind there.

Blair had his issues no doubt about that, but I have never read that he was corrupt on the scale of Johnson.

I see that Johnson is blocking any inquiry into the way the pandemic was handled.

I expect Cummings will help “unblock”it?

Whitewavemark2 Mon 26-Apr-21 07:37:38

I cannot believe that Johnson would have said this.

This is the sort of lying headlines that give our media such an appalling name.

Come on urmston. Blair isn’t the PM. We have had a succession of Conservative PMs. Cameron and Johnson are both mired in allegations of sleaze. Your comments suggest this doesn’t bother you one bit, yet a former Labour PM can be roped in as the bad guy.

JaneJudge Mon 26-Apr-21 07:59:56

I have just been sent that headline via the week ww2, do you think he wouldn't say it?

vegansrock Mon 26-Apr-21 08:02:49

Urmston proves my point about Johnson fans. Any criticism of our great leader is ignored or deflected onto some non current Labour politician.

False news it seems WWmk2
Simon Case who used to work within the RF and was ‘poached’ by the government denied last night that this was true.

I can’t imagine anyone saying it, unless they are in charge of delivering a Holocaust.

The the fact is that is exactly what happened.

How and why is a question Johnson is refusing to allow to take place.

Urmstongran Mon 26-Apr-21 08:07:52

Mr Case will appear before the public administration and constitutional affairs committee this afternoon.

I wish it was, but I’m afraid bereaved families have been told that Johnson is too busy to allow am enquiry.

Urmstongran Mon 26-Apr-21 08:09:45

Two well-placed government sources said that Mr Case would make clear that whatever discussions took place, the Prime Minister did not attempt to stop the inquiry.

“He will definitely say the PM did not interfere in the leak investigation,” one source said.

The other source said Mr Case will say there was no intervention from the Prime Minister, because “it’s true”.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 26-Apr-21 08:10:38

Mr Case is to answer questions about sleaze, mandarins and second jobs, aided and abetted by various government individuals.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 26-Apr-21 08:13:12

ug you are muddling the two. I’m talking about an enquiry into the handling of the pandemic, not the fact that Johnson stopped an enquiry he had initiated into the leaking of stuff, after his latest squeeze got annoyed because it was one of her besties, who leaked.

Urmstongran Mon 26-Apr-21 08:21:37

Sorry. I am indeed!
My apologies. It’s too early in the day for me for this obviously! I’ll be back later when I’ve got my brain in gear.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 26-Apr-21 08:22:04

Whitewavemark2 I think that there will be an enquiry into the pandemic when it is over. We are getting close to coming out of all restrictions in the UK, but not so in the rest of the world.

Enquiries take time, now is not the right time.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 26-Apr-21 08:23:05

Kicking the can down the road won’t mitigate the impact.

We will wait to see what Cummings has to say - the latest headlines are straight out if the Cummings stable - no doubt - the bombs are primed.
