Oh, dear old Anna Soubry.
Whatever happened to her?
Please help! (grandchild being locked in bedroom)
Sometimes it’s just the small things that press the bruise isn’t it? 😢
Demonic has suggested that Mr Johnson has been not entirely honest about his communications with James Dyson.
I recognise many people believe Mr J was ‘doing his best for the country in a pandemic’ when he offered to sort the tax for Mr Dyson. But, do we want ethical government or not?
Oh, dear old Anna Soubry.

Well I bought my latest Dyson as it came top in Which reviews and I’m really pleased with it.
What is so disgusting about the Mail headline is the fact that the bodies (everyone of which had a name and grieving relatives btw) did indeed pile high, but the Tory supporting press continued to absolve Johnson of any responsibility and still do.
It is disgraceful.
Inflammatory though the DM headline is (it sells newspapers after all in huge numbers) that remark by Boris (if true) was to illustrate how much he was against another lockdown. He’ was juggling the stagnant economy, jobs & potential unemployment as well as the pandemic. He is a liberal at heart and hated the idea of our freedoms being curtailed again.
I am disillusioned with most politicians. I remember thinking Harold Wilson was wonderful and look how that turned out! I voted conservative last time because I favoured Brexit. Without Brexit I would still have voted for Johnson rather than the alternative of Corbyn. At the moment we have elitist torries in power who mostly went to public school and don’t really give a monkeys about anything except keeping themselves in power and money. I don’t think Labour would have handled the pandemic any better either. About the only one in government I have any respect for is Liz Truss. I don’t rate Starmer. If I think about it I don’t rate anyone as next pm tbh.
25Avalon I agree with your post.
Urmstongran I think I am a Libertarian at heart.
I'll hand it to you UG, you don't give up under fire, do you?
He was trying his best, bless him. I don't think Harold Wilson would have done any better!
Give me strength.
I'd just like to remind everyone as well, that you probably didn't vote for either Johnson or Corbyn, unless you live in their constituencies. You voted for your local candidate and Johnson could be out of Number 10 at the whim of some person in a grey suit that you have never even heard of.
She’s not my favourite, but there’s a decent explanatory article by Laura Kuenssberg on the BBC news page this morning. She doesn’t think this can all be brushed under the carpet.

This is the direct link to the article www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-56884545
I agree. Kuenssberg has written a good summary. This isn't just "tittle tattle" and there are very serious implications.
Sorry, I copied the wrong link!
Haha! Alegrias I’ve said in the past that fools rush in (me) where angels fear to tread!
?
It’s what is proven, not alleged that’s important. Enemies and rivals throw all sorts about for a variety of reasons. The gullible who swallow it and feed the fire do their job for them.

She’s not my favourite either Casdon.
The BBC on Radio 4 was in full smear mode with the odious Keunssberg throwing threats, yes threats, at the government that “this is not over”. Referring to explanations about the various accusations opponents of the PM, the BBC just throws more scorn on anyone not on message, i.e. their message.
There is a mechanism for keeping government and ministers on track and honest. Yes, the media is one part but it is not judge and jury.
You wouldn’t know that from the imperious tone used by BBC hacks. The public are not stupid. We know what’s going on.
Unfortunately I'm familiar with the coronavirus act and how it has impacted on people with disabilities during the pandemic. My own daughter, in her early 20s - otherwise fit and healthy but has severe learning disabilities was issued with an automatic DNR (since removed) Some of us have been taught not be complacent that our best interests are at the forefront.
It’s interesting though urmstongran, in that both right and left accuse her of bias against them, she’s come in for a lot of flak from both ends of the spectrum over the years. I don’t like her, and I agree she can be very sneery, but I don’t think she is in anybody’s pocket.
"The gullible who swallow it and feed the fire do their job for them."
Wow! Urmstongran were you looking in a mirror when you wrote that?
You wouldn’t know that from the imperious tone used by BBC hacks. The public are not stupid. We know what’s going on.
So, what is 'going on', Ug?
"The public are not stupid. We know what’s going on."
Are you implying that the public really does know what's going on, despite earlier claims that the public doesn't care?
If it's true that the public really does not know what's going on, are you suggesting that sleaze, cronyism, possible fraud and other illegal activity is acceptable? You certainly appear to be implying that thousands of unnecessary and premature deaths are acceptable collateral damage.
Are you implying that the public really does know what's going on, despite earlier claims that the public doesn't care?
Come on, growstuff, don't try to second guess her.
I'm looking forward to the voice of the ordinary voter explaining what it is that is 'going on' that they know about and we don't...
Blimey.
Cummings is saying that he has tapes.
tapes? what is this..the 90s?

I cannot believe that Johnson would have said this.
This is the sort of lying headlines that give our media such an appalling name.
Just watching Sky and his biographer is saying he has said something similar and shocking when he was Foreign Secretary and that is will be the sort of language that appeals to part of the population
I have visions of him now recording the charts off the radio to listen to in his vauxhall cavalier on the way to work and I bet he's made a cassette sleeve from smash hits magazine as he looks the sort who would.
Johnson said that Libya could be the new Dubai once they clear the dead bodies away.
I don't know if the latest reports about what he said about lockdown are true or not, but the very fact that our PM is somebody who can make these kinds of remarks means that he has no empathy for anyone and he's a disgrace and an embarrassment.

Blimey.
Cummings is saying that he has tapes.
I'm wouldn't be suprised if he does. I would think it ought to be par for the course when dealing with Johnson. Thoughts of Nixon on hearing that.
Of course he has tapes. He probably learned that from his years in Russia.
