In a week that it has been proved that the media manipulated his mother do you think the same is being done to Prince Harry? There is something new ever day at the moment and I feel he is being used by Oprah for publicity.

GagaJo Harry has said himself that the weeping and wailing of the crowds affected him . I was appalled that people could
behave that way as a coffin passed, the mourners walked quietly
with dignity, the crowd were a disgrace.

I felt ashamed when I saw how the crowd reacted Annie, and I still am.
Their behaviour was appalling. No support for the mourners who were really suffering.
All about themselves.

I've seen the same type of behaviour at family funerals since.

Harry and Meghan pay a PR company.
I just cant understand why people keep asking for the press to leave them alone.
They are actively feeding them!

For goodness sake it was over 25 years ago, how much longer is Harry and others going to trade on this.

Namsnanny Tue 25-May-21 13:15:26

I dont know sodapop so long as it garners him cash and attention I suppose.

No he will remember the nanny doing it.

Goodness me, how old was he while still in nappies?!! I have absolutely no recollection of nappies or indeed even potty training. As someone whose memory for very recent things (his son's first word/words) is somewhat variable, perhaps wise not to give that too much credence?

At a time when tens of thousands of children in the world are suffering REAL trauma, seeing both parents killed, often worse, seeing their homes destroyed, then trekking thousands of miles to end in what are little more than concentration camps. Being put on dingies to cross rough seas - I find I have no sympathy at all for a very priviledged man, who had so many advantages in life. Yes, it was personally sad when his mother died in a car crash whilst with her latest boyfriend, but nothing compared with what so many children have and are experiencing, it is nothing.

Some horrible public response to those children is to push them back out to sea to drown.

Um...I don’t think he has actually mentioned a memory of nappies has he ?

No he hasn't Lucca which will be why Annie posted "will possibly".

muffinthemoo Tue 25-May-21 19:02:01

The lad’s a bit dim and easily led, what can you do really

This is the kind of thing I find distasteful.,

OK seeing Annie's post led to my confusion.

Anniebach Tue 25-May-21 19:27:23

What is distasteful about saying her latest boyfriend ?

Galaxy Tue 25-May-21 19:29:02

And the next time anyone on gransnet discusses any type of problem we should all say but there are children dying. Its nonsense. Comparing grief and loss is just awful.

And I was clearly responding to trisher who said No he will remember the nanny doing it. which is ridiculous, but please don't pull her up on that. I understood Diana was very hands on with her boys, I'm sure she changed plenty of nappies.

Bridgeit Tue 25-May-21 20:16:41

Annie it is the implication that there were many boyfriends & the implication that ‘ there were many boyfriends ‘ somehow defines an unsavoury aspect to a woman’s character...... they may just as well have used the word ‘Tart ‘ because that is what they were inferring .

muffinthemoo Tue 25-May-21 20:59:49

She was divorced at the time. She could have as many or as few boyfriends as she liked. We are thankfully beyond the time when royal princes sent former consorts to the convent. It’s a great shame for any mother to die so young and leave young ones behind. She also used her position and fame to do a lot of useful work for charity - and charities that were not necessarily popular causes at the time - and I believe she would have continued to do that if she lived.

I do feel people around Harry are encouraging him to express his grief very publicly not for the benefit of his healing though, but frankly so that persons like Oprah can make money out of it. That is a thing I always hate to see. It feels ghoulish. I hope once Harry has got what he needs out of his recent discussions, he is not pushed to continue reliving this deeply painful experience so that third parties can make money off him.

Sorry but I’m a bit confused here. Apologies if I’ve misconstrued your post,

Rosie51 Wed 26-May-21 08:02:20

Apologies then to you Lucca. I was being sarcastic about how old Harry would have to have been to remember being in nappies, because I felt it was a swipe at Diana by trisher that he'd remember the nanny changing him. Childish I know, but for all her faults, Diana was a loving, hands on mother, who I'm sure changed plenty of nappies. She would only have handed her boys over to nanny when she had other engagements to fulfil, much like any working mum who needs childcare.
