I saw this question, thought it was worth asking on GN
“Tory followers - What degree of law-breaking, rule-breaking, dishonesty, deceit, cronyism, nepotism, incompetence, bullying, conflict of interest or waste of tax-payers money would be enough for you to not support this Govt?”
Just reading some commentators who seem to be of the opinion, that the tide is turning against the government and interviewers were showing real anger at people like Brandon Lewis and other government bids that were wheeled in.
Also, politicians are now being questioned on their answers by tv journalists and more and more people are noticing that Johnson doesn’t actually answer questions in parliament. If only this had always been the case. I’ve lost track of how many times we’ve shouted at the tv ‘answer the question’ or ‘lies’! Oakshott had to back track on a lying statement on tv the other day after years of lying about the EU.

Been predicting this for a while now. And as said at the time, it is very slow to intiate the turn for such a big ship- once it starts though- it will be very quick.
Thought this thread was dead but as still some interest I would like to thank Dinahmo for highlighting Peter Obourne's writing. In his mission statement he says "...and I was so appalled by the dishonesty of Mr Blair’s administration that I wrote a treatise, The Rise of Political Lying, on the subject." Appears all politicians are liars after all. (P.S Blair isn't alone here) Enjoyed this thread learnt a few things thank you.
Apparently Hancock used personal GMail throughout the pandemic and not the official inbox. So nothing that was done during that time can easily be checked. Officials in the DoH were very worried about this issue
Question - why would he not use an official mail box but his own private gmail account, unless he had something to hide?

Can his devices not be searched? As I understand it, nothing is ever completely erased from a hard drive.
If you have been a lifelong supporter of the Tory party it's probably quite difficult to completely turn your back on them. I don't know what it would take to change allegiance, perhaps an offence that led to imprisonment.
I think it's generally true that we don't want to hear bad news about people/ideas we support and often tend to dismiss them or look for excuses or mitigating circumstances.
However, what we are witnessing now under Boris Johnson's leadership is something else and I find it appalling. There are so many lies told that your head spins. Tangled web and all that.
So many decent Conservative MP’s have been forced out if the party because of the current government which is rotten from the top down. I do feel sorry for lifelong Conservative voters but don’t understand why so many find it impossible to criticise anything they do, no matter how corrupt it is. The government is like one that’s run it’s course and is on it’s way out and yet, frighteningly, unless people wishing the party call them out for what they are, they’re governing this country for the forseeable future.
I'm a supporter of Scottish independence but am no longer a member of the SNP party because of the way it's been acting in recent times. I did, however, vote SNP in the recent election as I didn't want to vote for a party that doesn't support independence.
Perhaps some Conservative voters are similar in seeing the faults in the current bunch but hoping it can all be got back on track with the values they support, hence still voting for them.
