I wish the media would leave this lady alone. Over the weekend she has been described as a private person and suffering from Long Covid after picking up the virus when her husband had it. After his revelations to her that his affair was about to be made public, her world must have been turned on its head. She has 3 children to care and support as well. It must be awful for her leaving her house to have cameras thrust in her face hoping to catch some emotion from the poor woman. Leave her be. Go and pester the ones responsible.

I totally agree with Chewbacca.
To be honest I feel totally sorry for all the children involved.
Matt Hancock should have been sacked a long time ago and he is the major one at fault here. Boris should apologise for supporting him and lying for him for so long

I feel dreadfully sorry for her and the children.

Yellowmellow Tue 29-Jun-21 11:13:45

Totally agree with everything that has been said. It's Matt Hancock's shame. She is now probably devastated along with trying to support 3 traumatised children. I'm sure many of us can empathise and have been in simular positions. Thankfully not in the public eye

I have one word describing the media in our country ars*ho**s the lots of them the government pay too much attention to them they seem to be scared of upsetting them

Dooncaha Tue 29-Jun-21 11:22:23

With absolute respect to all previous input, are we not adding to the furore, speculation and judgement regarding what has, and is still occurring ?

Rosina Tue 29-Jun-21 11:24:59

How bad must it be to have your world fall apart and then have to deal with your children's bewilderment, while ignorant reporters hound you hoping to see you cry or say something they can twist and put on the front page. I loathe the press - they are disgraceful and have behaved so badly during the pandemic with their scare stories and lies. They are like hunters after a fox - not happy till a living thing is suffering and torn to shreds.

It's bad enough finding out your husband has been having an affair and your marriage is over without the whole thing being played out in the public eye. What possible interest is there in how she is doing apart from amongst her friends and family.

I've been there, and the support of family and friends is what you need and for others to butt out! I wish her well and I hope she gets that aupport and is left alone by the press to rebuild her life with her children.

It’s is not news they should all be arrested for harassment, leave his family alone her heart mush be breaking

romaroot Tue 29-Jun-21 11:31:33

I think anyone who did what they did haven't got their children's best interests at heart and should lose parental rights.
Mental harm is no different to physical harm. They are both guilty

They are owned by the government, they call the shots.

It’s the gutter press again. What I don’t understand is if Hancocks girlfriend was / is his personal assistant then as others have said she was in his bubble so if that is the case he did not break Covid rules by kissing her. As for cheating on his wife and his children’s mother and causing all that upset yes he is a bastard.
So are the low life Sun reporter and whistleblower who tipped off the media.

Dillonsgranma Tue 29-Jun-21 11:36:09

Poor woman. I’ve been there. It’s deeply heartbreaking and humiliating to know you weren’t enough for your husband. My heart goes out to her

Lolee Tue 29-Jun-21 11:36:17

It's difficult enough to cope with your husband having an affair and deserting the family without it being made front page gossip. Martha Hancock doesn't deserve any of this.

We have a rubbish government that lacks any morality and an equally rubbish media. Let's get back to basics - truth, honesty, transparency and morality.

mumstheword86 Tue 29-Jun-21 11:37:43

Shameful behaviour from two people who work for our government Sadly Six children involved !!!
Give me strength to under some people’s lives and behaviour these days I just can’t find words to say how I feel

toscalily Tue 29-Jun-21 11:42:41

Whitewavemark2 Wow!!!! I'm shocked that anyone can be so insular as to assume that everyone has a Waitrose nearby, hard to believe I know but there are large area's of the country that don't.

Nannashirlz Tue 29-Jun-21 11:51:21

I do feel sorry for the partners and children. Having had my ex hubby also had a affair on myself. After a 18yr marriage.I know how they must be feeling, but I didn’t have the scum media in my face. I can’t remember the first few weeks after he left. I was in a world of my own trying to keep our home and kids as normal as possible. And crying heartbroken. But that soon changes and he tried to come back after the affair ended. Which most do. I just hope that their partners are strong enough to refuse like I did.

Aepgirl Tue 29-Jun-21 11:59:35

Exactly right. Why hound the poor woman - she has enough distress at the moment trying to come to terms with what has happened to her and comforting her children.

I think very little blame has been placed on Gina Coladangelo. She knew that MH was married and, in my experience, men are always flattered by the attention of another woman. Yes they are equally to blame, but it takes 2 to tango.

sandelf Tue 29-Jun-21 12:00:30

Not Martha but... I can see why he did it, but what's in it for her...?

JaneJudge Tue 29-Jun-21 12:03:00

according to the Daily Mail, Gina packed up her 70k audi and drove off to be with Matt leaving her children behind.....so nah, I don't think there's much in it for him either

No dear, unless you can provide evidence for your post then yours can be described as exactly that?

Anneeba Tue 29-Jun-21 12:10:59

Poor children, awful in every way for them. Marta well rid of the slimy scumbag. Anyone else spot his true colours when asked a question he didn't like by female journalist? The anger and dismissiveness appeared fast and with a venom that made me dear for any poor wife he had. I hope she moves on and finds happiness. BTW you do get a free paper with online delivery from Waitrose, but have to wait for it until after 3.00pm

Anneeba Tue 29-Jun-21 12:11:40

Typos, sorry Martha, obviously and fear not dear

If you think I'm being confrontational and aggressive on here, for goodness sake don't go and read my posts on the religion threads. grin
