When we were in the EU, we could influence the legislation.

Now we're out, we can't do anything.

Life really isn't as simple as Leavers seem to think it is.

Nor is it as complicated as those who voted remain think.

Hurdles are there but they are not insurmountable, some perspective needed.

Maybe you'd like to elucidate because that seems a bit vague.

I will happily use some perspective once the leave camp can show me the benefit if leaving.

Then I can use that knowledge to show perspective on any issue that Brexit throws up.

I must admit that I would be terribly embarrassed if I was a leave voter.

As I said on another thread. If someone was to come on and say, S***, that was a bad idea. What can we do now to make it work? I'd understand that.

To keep being told its all teething problems and it will all iron itself out, and its not Brexit it's Covid....well, my patience wears thin.....

Wait until October when checks at the ports are due to start on imports!

What a ridiculous thing to say, we all had a free vote and we were entitled to use it as we saw fit.

How very irresponsible to vote and then wash your hands of the consequences which are a direct result of your vote.

I would need the 'perspective' of greatly enhanced benefits arising from having to negotiate those hurdles to become reconciled to leaving the EU.

So, do tell us. What are the benefits?

There are many benefits to Brexit. Just ask Jacob Rees Mogg (£7,000,000) or pro-leave investor and Johnson backer Crispin Odin (£350,000,000).

The failure to align with the EU over standards will allow cosmetic firms to once again use animals.

What new hell is this?

Since the UK banned animal experiments for cosmetics years before the EU did, I doubt very much that we will be going back to any bad old ways.

WWM2 would you refute that “a benefit from Brexit” has been not having to agree with member states about the delivery of our inoculation programme?

If we were still in the EU we would be a sovereign nation and could have made an independent decision over the vaccine.

So, no I don’t agree.

No point complaining we have left the EU for better or for worse, lots of problems but we will cope, we just have to lower our expectation of what we can achieve. The only hope for change is a Labour government which does not look likely at present.

I've no intention of lowering any of my expectations of what we can achieve, due to Brexit. I'll be complaining forever and a day, get your ear plugs ready everyone.

And, simultaneously, trying to work out what we can do about it. There is another hope for we Scots but I'll not mention it.

Took dog to see vet yesterday and had a chat.

Apparently there is a critical shortage of vets because of Brexit.

There were warnings about the lack of vets before the referendum, particularly because British vets don't want to work in abattoirs and it was mainly Spanish vets who worked in them.

I can't help feeling from some of the responses on here that not everyone took on board the reasons for not leaving the EU since the current debacle has come as such a surprise to leavers. How they have the nerve to continue to defend leaving is mind boggling.

If, as they often claim, they knew EXACTLY what they were voting for, they are guilty of willfully damaging this country, and the future prospects of our children and grandchildren. An apology would be a start.
