I’m glad we got out when we did. Thank god we weren’t in the Euro.

Surely you can love Europe, love the Europeans and still think that being a member of the EU is not what you want? Labelling Leavers as racist just inflates conflict. Just as Remainers damn the Governments for the problems in Britain, surely the same can be said for those Governing the EU. Surely the fact that Poland can break the rules yet hold the EU to ransom by using their veto show how this overblown bureaucracy may need overhauling.
I'd have been more than happy to remain in a more streamlined organisation which wasn't so wasteful and with its own agenda which always seemed to be at odds with many of the things its citizens wanted. Didn't we go to them to talk about how to secure our remain vote in a referendum but were firmly rejected? The Polish maybe realise that there is no point in talk, actions speak volumes.
Scones ....if you don’t know the meaning of the word motley
You can always consult a dictionary.
I just knew the pro-Brexit lot would turn Poland's argument with the EU parliament into a slanging match against the EU!
Looking at the mess the UK is in right now, thanks in part to all who voted to leave the EU, I am so glad you are all so proud of yourselves for ruining the country I was born in.
Thank Heaven I left when a British government decided in the 1970s that only people born in Britian and not in the British Empire could retain their British passports! I had been born in Britian, but couldn't stomach the thought that a British passport is not always a British passport!
Of course icanhandthemback ????
But what you don’t understand is that it suits angry remainers to speak about leavers in insulting ways, it makes them feel better about their own choices and puts them on some imaginary moral highground. In short, in mature adults it’s quite ridiculous.
Vegansrock over 50 million UK citizens did not vote to leave? There's only a population of approx 66 million leaving 16 million who did according to your stats. That figure of 16m includes those who were not UK citizens, children and those who couldn't be bothered to vote. Can't figure how the leavers won the vote!!
Yes I did. Have no beef with the OP, just all the usual suspects jumping on board to whinge yet again about Brexit. So boring. Its done.

It’s done!
I don’t care for this new format. Can’t reply to other posters using their quote.
Anyway my replies above were to Alelgrias.
Well, if you poke the bear....

Did you not notice that anti EEC, EC, EU people whinged on about our membership for 43 years? Our 5 years so far is nothing...
Labelling Leavers as racist just inflates conflict.
Good technique that; pick out one word in brackets, in a post and conflate it. I can see that some posters didn't follow the link I posted on reasons given for voting leave. Here are some of them:
Because they’re letting Turkey in – and Afghanistan and Syria and we don’t have room if all of them come here
I don’t want Shariah law
I don’t want to have to wear a burka
Because of Muslims
A Romanian woman had shouted at me in the petrol station
Now tell me that no racists voted Leave.
Just as Remainers damn the Governments for the problems in Britain
Oooh, I think you're well into La La land if you think that Remainers are the only people condemning the government ..
I do sometimes wonder how some posters will cope if the Conservatives win the next election ( again!)?
Take a guess Lemongrove, take a guess
Saor Alba.
(Bear-poking works both ways)
Oh I don’t need to guess really, it was more of a rhetorical question.
There will be another five years of aggressive and moaning comments that sit neatly alongside the anti-Brexit ones.
You seem keen on the phrase bear poking today Alegrias is it the latest buzz phrase ( like gaslighting)??

If someone hold a mirror up to you and what you see is insulting, do you blame the mirror, the holder or yourself?

The term gaslighting has been in common use since 1944.
Buzzword it is not.
Gaslighters probably want to play the word down though when it is used in their direction.
Kandinsky
I knew once we left the rest would follow.
So proud of my country for voting to leave. ??
Every leave voter should get a medal!
Really? Because Brexit is going REALLY well for us here isn't it? Please tell me what has improved... I'm waiting to hear.
Are you still a huge Farage fan?
vegansrock
Hope you saw the hundreds of thousands of supporters of EU on the streets of Poland, they don’t want to go down the divisive and economically disastrous route of the U.K. Some straw clutching going on here.
This ? Well said Vegansrock
Straw clutching? Kalachnikov rattling more like.
HannahLoisLuke, Brexit is done? I don't think so. Just wait until the real border restrictions and regulations, that you voted for, kick in on January 1st. You ain't seen nothing yet! Enjoy.
Kadinsky, you missed out,
'Keep asking for evidence of an improvement to our situation, lifestyle, opportunities, now that we have left the EU'.
Why are posters still ranting about Brexit? We are post Brexit. The thread was supposed to be about Poland and the EU. According to polls the majority of Poles do not want to leave the EU. They do, however, want to retain their sovereignty, understandably so given Polish history, but you cannot retain absolute sovereignty and be in the EU. That is a fact. I don’t see how the EU can allow them to have certain policies that the majority of EU countries are not in favour of. If push comes to shove I think Poland will capitulate as there are too many benefits for them being in the EU. There will be fines or some kind of restrictions if they do not. Otherwise they have to exit but I don’t believe they will.
Could we please debate Poland v EU as per the thread title? It is a very interesting subject I would like to hear more about.
