An extract from a News report:

Meghan yesterday apologised to a court for not telling a judge about emails showing her attempts to influence a biography about her and Prince Harry, saying: “I forgot.”

I wonder what else she forgot?!!

TM spent a lottery win of $750,000, filed for bancruptcy and was living on the breadline in Mexico when H&M married. He made money from photos before the wedding. He has no other income. So how would he manage?

Trisher. Good for him; I hope he enjoyed spending every penny of it. Meghan should be thankful she has inherited his lucky genes because she’s certainly won the big prize!

He spent a lot of his lottery win sending Meghan to a prestigious girls' school.

Fees for the school Meghan attended are set at just over $18000 for the current year. Even if she was there for 10 years and he paid it all that's only $180,000.( when she went it would have been cheaper and it's only 6 years anyway) He has in the past claimed he paid college fees as well and that has been disproved. Her mother contributed, she had awards and she did work which was counted against her college fees.

Meghan is ruthless, but not nearly as clever as she thinks she is.
Following the debacle of the wedding, and ignoring the total exclusion of all her family, bar mother, for reasons unexplained, she could easily have taken the moral high ground, flown out to her father's bedside, with Harry whom I don't think has ever met his father-in-law, plus all the world's press, and been photographed looking concerned at his bedside.
Every one would have thought, oh how generous, and it would also have negated any future attempts on his part to badmouth her.
Instead she has chosen to estrange herself from him and her family, both sides, and now her calculated untruths and spite against anyone who crosses her, are being exposed.

Alegrias1 Mon 15-Nov-21 10:56:02

OK...

So she's ruthless and will do anything for a buck, but she won't fly to her fathers bedside to suit your expectations.

The woman can't win.

trisher Mon 15-Nov-21 11:06:40

Oh let's hope she is ruthless. It's time there was a woman around who is. Last one I can remember is Margaret Thatcher and much as I hate her she was very succesful. Meghan may be the US's Margaret!!

And MT had a well connected husband who stayed in the background!!!! grin

I spent six weeks travelling up and down the country, between the south coast and the north west, when my elderly father was ill and then died. I didn’t turn my back on him, nor would I ever. He was a good father.
I’ve also done similar with my elderly mother, who was certainly not a particularly good mother during any of her life, until she moved south. I now visit her regularly in her care home. It’s called family values.

Anniebach Mon 15-Nov-21 11:14:22

You do so admire Thatcher trisher , it seems you believe get what you want by fair means or foul yes ?

I admire Thatcher because she was imposed on the Tory party by men who thought they could control her, but she used them and became the one who controlled things. I believe in using the same weapons as your rival but doing things better.
I hate Thatcher for the damage she did to this country and working people.

Calendargirl Mon 15-Nov-21 11:20:35

I agree with eazybee.

If what we read is true, (and who knows if it is), it seems a couple of months after the wedding, the RF, Prince Charles specifically, wanted Meghan to go and visit her father to try and resolve, or at least appear to resolve, all the issues that had sprung up between her and her family. Instead she wrote this controversial letter, which he subsequently showed to the press.

Why did she and Harry not go to visit him? It could have been done very quietly and discreetly if that’s what they wanted, or they could have made a point of letting the press know. The details of how the actual visit went could have been kept quiet, but the fact that they were being shown to try and hold out an olive branch would have gone massively in their favour.

She does appear to be ruthless, not an admirable trait in man or woman . Trump was ruthless, guess you didn’t admire him, as like Markle he would trample over anyone to get his way.
Perhaps that’s why she’s using her, by marriage only, royal connection to lobby Republicans, was it.

So you admire those who do damage and cause misery to other people, then trisher? That's OK as long as they are successful and a woman?

?

Excellent article by Camilla Long in the Sunday Times yesterday said it all for me. Pride comes before a fall.

eazybee Mon 15-Nov-21 11:52:50

I said Meghan was ruthless; I don't recall saying 'she will do anything for a buck'.
Nothing to to do with my expectations; it would have been to her advantage and actually, kind to her father.

Anniebach Mon 15-Nov-21 11:53:22

Thatcher and Meghan do seem so alike , who can forget

‘We have become a grandmother’

Bluebellwould Mon 15-Nov-21 12:37:01

I admire Mrs Thatcher, not for her policies and not for being female, but because she said what she was doing and did it. No wiffling and waffling and fannying about. We desperately need leaders who can lead instead of blustering about like a buffoon (no names needed). My grandfathers were both miners so I certainly didn’t like her policies but at least she had control which we are seriously lacking at the moment.

So you are blaming her for doing things just to look good, but you think she should have done something else just to look good?

eazybee Mon 15-Nov-21 13:13:06

Not aware I have blamed her for doing things just to look good.

Alegrias1 Mon 15-Nov-21 13:16:52

Maybe you haven't eazybee, sorry if I am incorrect in that. But others have.

So suggesting she should have gone to see her father, from whom she appears to be estranged, just because the press could take photos of her and she'd look good?

That's what I mean by saying she can't win.

I thought it was Harry the RF wanted to go and meet his prospective fil? Isn’t that normal procedure? So why didn’t Harry go? It can’t be they were embarrassed by Thomas Markle as he was going to be at the wedding as father of the bride. All very strange to me. I think there must have been other things in the background. There are always 2 sides.
