The Times reports Lindsay Hall is asking Police to investigate after 11 of 12 areas tested showed trace of cocaine. The sites included the toilets near the offices of Mr Johnson and Ms Patel

It also makes people boorish, with an over inflated opinion of themselves.....

Good grief, whatever next!

Watch this space to find out, I suppose.

Absolutely right Lincslass. I just reported what the paper said. We will have to wait for the next instalment.

It will be interesting, that is for sure.

Gove was off his head in the HoC last year no? Visibly so.

Good grief! Really? When was that kali2? Can you point me in the right direction to have a look at that?

Oh heck, that's a hell of a lot of people on the stuff then.

MissAdventure Sun 05-Dec-21 23:37:13

I doubt cleaners and so on can afford coke habits.

Perhaps that explains why some tory MPs find it hard to live on a mere £82,000 p.a. hmm

MissAdventure Sun 05-Dec-21 23:43:16

I wouldn't mind betting that's pretty close to the mark.

A gram of cannabis can be bought for £40, that amount will make 5 to 7 lines, so a line of coke could cost as little as £6. This makes coke very affordable to anyone wanting an instant high. Users commonly take coke while drinking heavily, enjoying a higher euphoric feeling that just drinking alcohol alone. It also allows users to drink for longer periods of time.

These prices are for 2020 when my niece was doing some research into drug use at concerts while studying Criminology at 6th form college.

MissAdventure Mon 06-Dec-21 00:44:02

Depends how thick you want the lines, and they tend to get thicker the more you snort.
Plus, the effects last for only about half an hour or so.

If you're out for a 6 - 7 hour stint, that is one hell of a lot of money going up your bugle!

MissAdventure Mon 06-Dec-21 00:47:21

People who are snorting coke with friends aren't going to cut up tiny little matchstick sized lines; remember the feelings of grandiosity it gives you...

Yes I saw that. His behaviour was filmed as he stood next to the Speaker’s chair.

Quite difficult to explain the muscle twitching. Odd. But he does have a reputation, so it wouldn’t surprise me.

That is one occasion. I have seen another where he is seated beside Johnson and his eyes are boggling, but I couldn't find that one.

I treat a lot of people who have taken coccaine and you would possibly suprised and the variety of people who take it from young Mums, people on benefits to the older person. It was rife amongst a certain group of my sons friends parents at primary school 25 years ago and they were by no means well off.
Does anyone remember Gordon Ramseys programme about coccaine a few years ago? He was shocked to find that all the toilets in his restaurants including the staff ones showed traces of coccaine and when he joined the police on patrol in Bournemouth (from memory) he was horried when they picked up a young man driving his kids to school who tested positive for very recent coccaine use.

nanna8 Mon 06-Dec-21 07:36:32

Ah well, I guess the MPs are just representing the populace at large.

M0nica Mon 06-Dec-21 07:41:24

The accusation for Gove was drink not drugs. It would have been about the time his marriage was breaking up/had broken up. I think at times of complete stress like that a little latitude is allowed.

He is a not a Charles Kennedy, who was an alcoholic and died of it. A lot of latitude was shown to him, as has at times been shown to other alcoholic MPs.

Galaxy Mon 06-Dec-21 07:46:17

Not sure that was a wise move in terms of Kennedy to be honest.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 06-Dec-21 08:04:34

Gove has actually admitted to cocaine use. But that does not mean he is currently using the class A drug. However the circles he mixes in he will see it constantly in use, including the HoP apparently!

He could also have a medical problem, very quick to judge on here. Let him without sin etc.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 06-Dec-21 08:31:22

? I’m sure you are right?.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 06-Dec-21 08:33:18

I do not approve/condone illegal drug taking whatever the drug.

Whitewavemark2 how on earth are you party to what goes on in Mr.Goves social circle? Do you know all of his friends or are you repeating tabloid gossip?

Whitewavemark2 Mon 06-Dec-21 08:38:11

I’m not repeating tabloid gossip.

Still, one thing we do know is that the government crackdown will not affect ministers as the rules don’t apply to them.

Mr.Gove like many other folks have admitted to using drugs in the past, for many this happened at University.

You have alleged that the circles he mixes in he will see it constantly where has your information come from?

I am all for drug sniffer dogs being deployed in Government buildings, unannounced preferably. Should this lead on to swathe same thing in corporate settings?

In our area the police test the toilets of pubs and restaurants randomly.
