Well, it’s a good thing that Labour voted with (the c***) government to do the right thing, isn’t it? They could afford to vote against the government knowing this.

I’ll bet the vast majority of the Tory MPs will vote with the government on the new Human Rights and Immigration bills though!

This makes me very angry. I saw some conservative MP (peter Clarke ?) interviewed and he said Boris is a good PM but that he would always vote against ANY Public health bill which imposed restrictions( even just mask wearing) Why ? I just don’t understand

I don't need to check what my MP voted, because she always votes with the government.
She does pop up here for the odd photo call but apart from that, never does anything for her constituents.
Over the years we've had some very impressive MPs from both Tory and Liberal parties, such a shame to end with a weak, self promoting excuse for an MP. Sounds familiar these days.

It makes no sense to me either, surely the health and safety of the nation should be uppermost in their minds.

There were four things on the agenda last night. I can't find the list, sorry. But one of the measures was passed without any vote, it was unanimous. The face coverings measure was passed with a high majority; 441 to 41.

I'm glad that MPs of any party don't just vote the way their party tells them to if they think the issue they are being asked about is important. I'm glad they don't think they are there to prop up the government come what may.

There's no evidence that the Covid Passes will work. We've had them in Scotland for months and our figures are not much better than anyone else's. What will be the evidence of being fully vaccinated? 2 doses or 3? Not everyone has been offered 3 yet. And 2 isn't enough to be properly effective. So what is the point of bringing them in today?

If the measure had just been to show evidence of a negative test I think more would have supported it. But by including the need to be vaccinated at this time the government have clouded the waters. The Head of the UKHSA says she wasn't consulted on the plans, so the idea that the rebels are ignoring medical advice is not correct. The government seem to have come up with the idea of Covid Passes so that they can be seen to be doing something, even if there is no evidence of its usefulness.

This is not a basic public health measure, its a lot more than that. My MP voted against and I'm glad she did.

Regardless of whether vaccinated you can catch covid and pass it on. How do covid passports alter this? They don't.

I'm confused because he went the other way in the recent sewage vote? No consistency.

What was the recent sewage vote?

Did it involve people showing evidence of their medical history to a bouncer at the door of a nightclub, for no valid reason?

My MP hasn't voted on this or ANY Covid vote. This in a completely safe seat where the Conservatives always win.

Our FPTP voting system means my vote is wasted every single time I vote and this man gets in and does not vote on our behalf. He does not even seem to express an opinion.

It's so frustrating. I have no hope of my voice ever being heard.

I am not sure that vaccine passports are the way out of this nightmare.

Fully Vaccinated folks can still get Covid, they can still pass on Covid to others. I should imagine that within hours of this vote that the tech savvy peeps have got Covid passes for sale.

I have totally rethought my views on ID/domestic passports etc. (yes even for voting which previously I was pro) I am not happy with a tiered society.

I gave read that the Lib Dens and DUP voted against.

I am not sure either, especially, as you say, without photo ID, many people will produce and buy false ones.

But it is easy to say 'I am not sure' ... what alternative do YOU propose?

Sounds like you are describing my MP, she doesn’t even reply to emails, just sends a standard reply then ignores them!

The real problem is that the whole business of the restrictions has got caught up in the question of the PM's authority. Who knows how it will end.

I feel a bit Mrs Noah about the Omicron panic. The govt's primary fear seems to be that the NHS will be 'overwhelmed', showing up the appalling problems of staff shortages. And whose fault is that?
