Harry and Meghan's Happy Holiday Card

So the glorious couple have released the first picture of Baby Lilibet on their Happy Holiday Season card, but why are they always so annoying in everything they do? Both children's faces are only partially visible, we don't get a good look at them. Okay, their choice I suppose, but why?

Even more annoying is that they are once again boasting about their charitable donations. As discussed on another GN thread called 'Doing Good' it is generally agreed that charity work should be done privately with modesty, and not to publicise your good works. Instead we have: As we look forward to 2022 we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families - from those being relocated from Afghanistan to American families in need of paid parental leave.
Just to make sure we all know how wonderful they are I suppose.

Thoughts are with all the people on this thread who feel the need to criticize pictures of small children. I hope you find happiness in the New year and the hate in your heart fades.

I don’t think anyone has criticised the small children whoever they may be. It’s the adults who are the issue.

It's quite permissible to criticise photographs, photography and photoshopping.

No-one has criticised the young children, everyone agrees they are delightful.

I hope you may be able to see the difference Grandpanow.
It's a matter of semantics.

That card is a photoshopped joke. Look at MM's thumb - the top (above baby's arm) is at a different angle to the base and a different colour to the rest of her hand.

There's a sort of halo effect around the baby's body but not the head - it has obviously been photoshopped on.

I know nothing about photoshopping or detecting it. But I do know that my thumb looks just like hers (as per Josieann's photo) which I'm told is my borderline hypermobility. I could make similar 'odd' shapes if my hand was under a baby's armpit. (Am trying this out by picking up the cat! The cat's not happy about it btw)

Are you gorgeous Chardygrin. Just wondering if there is a link between unusual thumbs and beauty.

My thumbs are normal(ish) but other joints are hyper-mobile and yes, I am exceptionally beautiful.

I knew it. All my joints are normal. sad

Whatever may be said about their parents, the picture of the children, photoshopped or not, is beautiful.

I think any picture of children is beautiful. And they wouldn't choose a picture where any of them look less than perfect. I'm sure Meghan selects the photograph very carefully.

How observant some of you are! I never noticed any of the photoshopped features mentioned until they were pointed out. Yes Archies left cheek has a strange blob on it and Meghan's thumb is far too long to belong to her and doesn't even look like a thumb (I agree, it so looks like ET's finger?). Maybe Meghan is as unobservant as me and didn't notice either - however, her PR people should have checked the pic before it was released. Hope heads don't roll ???

Anniebach Tue 28-Dec-21 14:02:24

I didn’t notice it, talons come to mind !

Josieann Tue 28-Dec-21 15:36:57

Aren't talons claws or nails Annie, not the whole digit? I could make a comment about claws, but will refrain.
More importantly the nail on the thumb is similar to the other nails on Meghan's hand, not highly manicured or varnished. So ET's finger has to belong to Meghan. Case solved.

Anniebach Tue 28-Dec-21 16:32:44

A talon is a claw Josieann

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 28-Dec-21 17:13:21

Even allowing for Meghan’s strangely jointed thumbs there’s no way that thumb is part of the rest of the hand holding the baby. So have the baby and her fingers been added? I can’t imagine how this got through scrutiny. Weird.

Calistemon Tue 28-Dec-21 18:15:03

Looking more closely, why is Harry's arm tanned but his hand is not?
Definitely photoshopped but not done well.

Tulpia Tue 28-Dec-21 18:33:07

Totally agree Calistemon The whole thing is a cobbled together, photoshopped fake.

Does this pose look familiar?

maddyone Tue 28-Dec-21 18:46:20

That’s a gorgeous picture of Diana and William. I had thought the H+M pose was familiar. I have heard that Meghan tries to emulate Diana but I don’t know if she does. There certainly have been some remarkably similar outfits, that’s for sure. It’s also been suggested that she wants to be the second Diana, but I’m not sure if that’s the case.

Anniebach Tue 28-Dec-21 19:03:41

There was the Panorama interview and the Oprah interview

Not photoshopped!

Josieann Tue 28-Dec-21 23:12:04

Any Diana photos before 1987 wouldn't have been photoshopped because the process didn't exist then.
