Harry and Meghan's Happy Holiday Card

So the glorious couple have released the first picture of Baby Lilibet on their Happy Holiday Season card, but why are they always so annoying in everything they do? Both children's faces are only partially visible, we don't get a good look at them. Okay, their choice I suppose, but why?

Even more annoying is that they are once again boasting about their charitable donations. As discussed on another GN thread called 'Doing Good' it is generally agreed that charity work should be done privately with modesty, and not to publicise your good works. Instead we have: As we look forward to 2022 we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families - from those being relocated from Afghanistan to American families in need of paid parental leave.
Just to make sure we all know how wonderful they are I suppose.

Many people send e-cards with the info that they have donated to a particular charity in lieu of buying cards and paying postage.

The photo is lovely - a wonderful departure from stilted formal photos with the children dressed up to the nines. Lovely to see Archie in jeans and looking relaxed.

I am at a loss to understand the sourness that is generated by this family - whatever they do. Nothing they do is right.

I am just happy to see that Harry is settling into family life after the problems in his childhood and hope very much that the constant hounding by miserable killjoys will not destroy that happiness.

Beautiful picture of the them all. They look very happy.

I doubt they're reading this forum! We're all entitled to our opinions and, obviously, most of them are pretty negative. Wonder why?

Actually when I posted the image of the family on the other thread about royal cards I hadn't even read the words. Maybe some of us jump to the written word faster, whereas others jump immediately to an instant appraisal of the visual. Both are relevant, just different.

The postage is quite substantial, particularly if sending overseas.
66p for a 2nd class stamp.

Point taken. I don’t send many these days and don’t expect them in return. Waste of paper etc. I do give to charity all year round and substantially more at Christmas. Don’t broadcast it though - only on here grin

They should be able to afford some hefty charity donations since they take 95 cents in every dollar donated to their 'charity'.

Did you do it on behalf of us Gransnetters?

If so, thank you tchsmile

Unless you've been living under a rock you will surely realise the negative stuff this couple have inflicted on the Royal family in so many ways. Their virtue signalling, hypocrisy and posturing is also not popular either, making them personae non gratae for many people in the UK now.

Oh, I get it now.

People have donated to Archwell? and they have passed those donations on to two charities.

I didn't realise before.

No fan of M or H and it may well be posed but I quite like this photo.

MissAdventure Thu 23-Dec-21 17:55:47

I've just given in and looked at it.
It's lovely!
They look modern, relaxed and content.
Whether they are remains to be seen, just the same as everyone else.

Marmite32 Thu 23-Dec-21 17:58:24

It's the little lad with the auburn curls who steals my heart.
Just like DS1.

tickingbird Thu 23-Dec-21 17:59:14

Lovely children and Archie’s got a good head of red hair too.

MissAdventure Thu 23-Dec-21 18:00:35

Meghan is very photogenic, too.

I wonder why it took little Lili to 'make them a family'. Surely two parents and one child constitute 'a family'.
I'm an only child, and grew up in a family, my husband is the same, as is our son, and now his son is growing up with a loving dad, mum (they were married before she was pregnant too, how very quaint and old fashioned) but according to the idiot Sussex couple, none of us grew up in a 'family'!
I think it's a very hurtful thing for them to have said about Archie, and one day it will come back to bite them on the bum!

I'm an only child too, so is my son. In neither case by choice. Having had a much publicised miscarriage perhaps Meghan might have thought about that.

Josieann Thu 23-Dec-21 18:05:45

I've heard lots of people dislike others saying, "you're a real family now", when they have a second baby. As if they weren't a family with just the first child.

GagaJo Thu 23-Dec-21 18:08:09

I'm glad H has found happiness. Long may it last.

vegansrock Thu 23-Dec-21 18:08:42

I buy cards from my local Hospice with their name emblazoned on it, so I must be attention seeking and virtue signalling, obviously should have bought plain ones.
I like the photo, obviously this couple can do nothing right.

Yes, I virtue signalled too because I bought charity cards.

We're all suffused with guilt whatever we do!

Anniebach Thu 23-Dec-21 18:13:26

Did you list other charities you gave donations to ?

MissAdventure Thu 23-Dec-21 18:14:25

There are fairly regular threads on here where people list who they donate to.

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 23-Dec-21 18:15:51

Damn. I forgot to include with my charity card a list of other charities I've given to. Too late now. Mental note for next year.

BlueBelle Thu 23-Dec-21 18:22:53

Sarcasm isnt that pretty GSM
A beautiful happy photo two handsome parents with two delightful children and a lot of vitriolic old miseries on here

Probably because none of us is self-promotional like this couple who supposedly moved away to get out of the limelight keep themselves in it.confused

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 23-Dec-21 18:24:39

I think it’s a beautiful card. Haven’t any of you given to charity on behalf of someone else? I have. Does anyone remember those African toilets that everyone gave as a present? I do not believe a word the tabloids write about this couple. Mean in the extreme.
