I thought that ‘holidays’ was used to include Thanksgiving; but M&H didn’t release the photo to coincide with that, so I find that a bit odd

Harry and Meghan's Happy Holiday Card
(271 Posts)So the glorious couple have released the first picture of Baby Lilibet on their Happy Holiday Season card, but why are they always so annoying in everything they do? Both children's faces are only partially visible, we don't get a good look at them. Okay, their choice I suppose, but why?
Even more annoying is that they are once again boasting about their charitable donations. As discussed on another GN thread called 'Doing Good' it is generally agreed that charity work should be done privately with modesty, and not to publicise your good works. Instead we have: As we look forward to 2022 we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families - from those being relocated from Afghanistan to American families in need of paid parental leave.
Just to make sure we all know how wonderful they are I suppose.
Lovely photo, but as said upthread, we never see Archie looking at the camera. I believe he has a lazy eye which will be corrected with surgery.

I didn't register that. How do you even know that? I wouldn't think it was something they would publicise.
I still think they could show his face more even if not looking direct at the camera. I'm sure Meghan selects these photos VERY carefully.
I believe it is called amblyopia. I think it is herditary and afflicts Lady Louise Windsor. It can be corrected but looks are judged widely in this day so the boy is being protected.
I think it looks like a photo shoot for Ralph Lauren or Gap.
Nice photo, but the holey jeans are an affectation. I'm sure it's not their intention but it makes them look like rich people pretending to be poor.
I think it’s a beautiful photo, taken I think I’ve read by the person who did their wedding photos.
Happy Holiday so that it doesn’t offend anyone.
I don’t get why they say we donated on your behalf.
As for many (not all) people who make a donation instead of sending Christmas cards I would prefer it if people actually said going out and buying cards, thinking of what to write and making a personal note to people plus addressing all the envelopes going and buying stamps and posting them is too much of an effort so I’m going to get out of it all by saying I’m giving money to charity instead. (I have done the same myself in the past and jumped at the opportunity to do so when a colleague suggested it). Now I’m back to writing all my cards and I really don’t enjoy it but what I do enjoy is opening mine when they come through the post, looking at the lovely pictures on the front and seeing them lined up on my side board. I find it cheering.
Being a Christian I would like to wish everyone a Happy and Peaceful Christmas and for those with no faith or who have other faiths I would hope no offence is taken by me celebrating a time that is special for me.
Doodle thank you for the Christmas wishes.
I don't think anybody will be offended by you having that sentiment, I think its a silly made up thing by people trying to stir up trouble, when they say that people are offended by "Merry Christmas". I don't mean you, I mean the people who have made sincere people like yourself think that celebrating something that is important to you, and wishing anybody those kind things would offend them. I'm sure it doesn't.
Personally, I'm atheist, but of course "Merry Christmas" doesn't offend me. Happy Holidays in used in the US because there are other holidays around his time, so its just more inclusive; Kwanzaa, New Year, even the Solstice.
So from me, Happy New Year when it comes Doodle. That's the Scottish way of doing things
I was trying to keep out of this thread, but I just want to clarify one thing. This photo was sent by email to people involved with the couple’s charitable foundation and those are the people on whose behalf donations have been made. Not readers of Gransnet, I’m afraid.
Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda i pawb!
This is a sad, toxic thread. Just about everything in the photo and the the message has been criticised. Very un-Christian.
The children look lovely, just an observation young Archie's hair looks to be very auburn, Harry was much more a strawberry blonde at that age only the general consensus is that he looks like Harry. Hard to judge as he is in profile, but last photo of him I thought he looked a dead ringer for Thomas Markle, just as young Louis looks exactly like his paternal grandfather, Michael Middleton. Princess Charlotte is uncannily like the Queen and not that much like either of her parents. It's always interesting to see how looks get transferred through the generations.
Nollaig Chridheil! Agus Bliadhna Mhath Ùr nuair a thig i!
Alegrias1 - Have always included the "when it comes" (raised mostly, and lived wholly as an adult in England but Perth born, bred and ancestored) and have just this week come across it in the Ghàidhlig that I'm learning online. Nuair a thig i.
I was always told it was unlucky to wish people a Happy New Year before it actually arrived. Just in case it didn't, I suppose!
Bliadhna Mhath Ùr nuair a thig i Ailidh
Chardy it wasn’t a Christmas card or Christian message , obviously you didn’t read the threads on the cards from members of our royal family ,
Blossoming

Where did you see that blossoming.
Most of the reports says posted digitally to family and friends.
It's a lovely picture and a wonderful donation that may inspire others to give to the cause
Why do we need to see their faces though? They are children.
Entitlement LovelyCuppa, entitlement.
We want it, we deserve it, why can't we have it? Not that we really care of course.
(sarcasm detector on)

You could argue that many of the things H&M have done have been toxic and un-Christian in destroying Harry's family. And it has been agreed by one and all that the photo is beautiful and they all look very happy, so there are no grounds for that remark really.
Nasty GSM you don’t know anything about them or anything they may or may not have had to put up with
Interesting isn’t it that the royal women are always sidelined Margaret was treated badly because she didn’t toe the line Mrs Wallace treated like a convict and forced to ‘hide’ then Diane wasnt at all accepted (she was loved by the people ) but the family, no not at all, Sarah fergi was horribly maligned and badly treated, then came Meghan not accepted either Omg worst of all American, mixed race, an actress could it get worse for ‘ the establishment’ camilla took many years of nastiness but hung in there and eventually she was kinda grudgingly accepted (Catherine pretty English Rose, quiet and easily moulded was taking into the bosom, she was tolerated because she didn’t ever rock the boat and slid into the background during her apprenticship)
Anyone with any spirit or individuality or God forbid different background ….forget it
Margaret was not treated badly, Diana wasn’t, Fergie wasn’t.
Nice photos.
But I'm another with a foot phobia. Anyone over the age of 10 should hide their feet. They make me feel all of a dither. Unless on a beach of course
How Sarah Ferguson was happy to have her toes sucked shocked me to the core.
What was nasty BlueBelle?
