Harry and Meghan's Happy Holiday Card

So the glorious couple have released the first picture of Baby Lilibet on their Happy Holiday Season card, but why are they always so annoying in everything they do? Both children's faces are only partially visible, we don't get a good look at them. Okay, their choice I suppose, but why?

Even more annoying is that they are once again boasting about their charitable donations. As discussed on another GN thread called 'Doing Good' it is generally agreed that charity work should be done privately with modesty, and not to publicise your good works. Instead we have: As we look forward to 2022 we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families - from those being relocated from Afghanistan to American families in need of paid parental leave.
Just to make sure we all know how wonderful they are I suppose.

Alegrais thank you for your good wishes too and those from others.
Happy New Year to you too….when it comes ?

Beautiful photograph, though I must say I am not a fan of a family photograph in lieu of a card relating to Christmas, and yes, this applies to those from the rest of the RF. Not keen on the ripped jeans and bare feet, it’s just a fashion that I don’t particularly care for. Actually, it doesn’t really matter what I think, if they like it, all well and good.

However, if I had a New Year wish, it would be that the media felt less compelled to regale us with information about them. I know you don’t have to read/listen to it, but there are far more important things going on in the world , without using up newspaper columns about them.

Chardy This is a sad, toxic thread. Just about everything in the photo and the the message has been criticised. Very un-Christian.
You could argue that many of the things H&M have done have been toxic and un-Christian in destroying Harry's family. And it has been agreed by one and all that the photo is beautiful and they all look very happy, so there are no grounds for that remark really.

Sadly as I don't know them personally, I have no idea what they have done to their family, nor what their family have done to them. I know what certain newspapers say about them though.

As for 'no grounds for that remark', the unpleasantness in certain threads about this couple is unacceptable imo, and un-Christian.

I thought it was a lovely family photo and I wish them well for 2022.

I couldn't agree more. Sadly, there's money to be made in manufacturing ogres.

They keep feeding the media

growstuff Fri 24-Dec-21 20:22:00

I couldn't care less whether they keep feeding the media. I don't care much about their lives actually. However, they are human beings and I can't wish them anything but good. There are much worse human beings on the planet.

Anniebach Fri 24-Dec-21 20:50:33

Yes much worse and much better / kinder

Jaberwok Sat 25-Dec-21 07:28:46

It is a lovely happy photo. Let's just hope that in the future, H & M's children are kinder to their parents than they have been, and still are, to theirs. Why the ripped jeans? Is there a message hidden in there that I'm missing?

Grany Sat 25-Dec-21 13:22:23

Lovely family photo looks like the two will have red hair

A few thoughts on monarchy

Harry was right they are all completely trapped.

Oh for goodness sake, stop this nastiness. Who has actually been brainwashed, the monarchists or you?

I don't think there is any message with the ripped jeans - it's just a very trendy look at the moment!

BlueBelle Fri 24-Dec-21 15:03:11

I often agree with you, Bluebelle but can't in this instance.

The Royal women you mention were not all badly treated by the family, as it turns out from later revelations. Diana was welcomed, helped but it was an arranged marriage and doomed to failure, sad for both of them.

All these women, were, however vilified by the Press after the initial enthusiasm.

Catherine had a very rough ride from the Press at first but has come through it we hope.
The British Press behave disgracefully sometimes.

Mrs Simpson was probably an exception, shunned by the family because her motives were suspect and the consequences of her actions were far-reaching, causing huge problems for the family and for the Constitution.

Calistemon Sun 26-Dec-21 17:02:00

Well, I like it.

Apparently, the plethora of denim worn by all but Lili suggests that a deal with, say, Gap, is in the offing.

And here was me thinking it was just a nice, casual family photo.. oh well.

wink

Yes, it does look like a Gap advert, and isn’t Harry far too old for the torn jeans look?! What with that and the bare feet....

He could be feeling impoverished

Anniebach Sun 26-Dec-21 18:11:49

Surely Megan gives him an allowance

Lizzie72 Sun 26-Dec-21 18:34:47

What an impertinent comment

Iam64 Sun 26-Dec-21 19:09:16

I used to patch my worn Levi’s in the sixties snd seventies. I was proud of my stitching skills thst meant I could wear the same jeans for years. I loved the worn look but ripped knees weren’t a thing. Now they are, it isn’t even an alternative look. My 3, 5 snd 6 year old grandchildren wear new jeans with ripped knees.

Calistemon Sun 26-Dec-21 23:34:05

It's a ridiculous fashion but surprisingly popular
Why?

I wish I knew.

I think the tipped jeans look started when very skinny Jean's were a thing, and in order to bend your knee, the fabric gave way.

Chestnut Mon 27-Dec-21 00:01:07

The ripped jeans look is just as ridiculous as the baggy crutch look which has on occasions had me laughing like a drain, especially when I've seen someone trying to walk down the street dressed like that. It looks so comical.

I can’t bear it if I’m standing in a queue or walking behind someone sporting that style. It takes all the self control I can muster to stop me pulling up their trousers for them just like I used to do when my 40 year old son was a toddler?

Galaxy Mon 27-Dec-21 00:49:15

I remember as a teenage one of my closest friends had a fairly dramatic look, spiky hair etc, my uncle came to stay and whinged endlessly about how she was dressed. My parents told him very firmly not to behave like that in their home. I have never forgotten their kindness of spirit.
