Another ‘oh Jeremy Corbyn’ movement? ?

Jeremy Corbyn is considering establishing his own political party after privately accepting he will never be reinstated as a Labour MP, The Telegraph understands.

The former Labour leader has been urged by many in his inner circle, including his wife Laura Alvarez, to upgrade his charity into a political party, and run under its banner at the next election.

I’m also a bit puzzled by the comments on Keir Starmer “throwing Jewish members out of the Labour party.

What does that prove except that there is Antisemitism in the Labour Party no matter who is the leader?

It proves (if you bothered to follow he link) that actually the accusations are nothing to do with antisemitism (which anyone with any brains knows Corbyn has never been) but is to do with support for Palestine. Something which has led Holocaust survivors speaking about the actions of Israel to be shouted down, described as"Kappos" and now thrown out of the LP. It's described by some Jewish left wing Labour supporters as the "weaponisation of antisemitism" and Starmer is complicit with it. It's something we should all regard as deeply disturbing

If you really wnt to know more about Mandelson and Epstein here's the petition link. Dodgy dealings to say the least. He may not have had his sexual tastes catered for (and who knows) but he obviously had financial dealings with a convicted criminal,

Reporter - ‘did you attend the wreath laying ceremony for the
terrorists who murdered the Israeli Olympic Team Mr,Corbyn,

Corbyn - ‘I was there but I don’t think I was actively involved ‘

The last sentence was used by Johnson about the party in the garden at no 10.

So who would commission the Independent Enquiry? How could it be truly independent if it’s actually financed by the accusers?

Shouldn’t it be a Criminal investigation of accusations of trafficking and paedophilia?

I wasn’t really thinking about Jeremy Corbyn personally but of the problem Labour has had with Antisemitism at the grass roots.

So are Jews who support Palestine antisemitic Peasblossom ? The definition of what is antisemitic has been disputed by many Jews. The Holocaust survivor drew a list of the actions of the Nazis in Germany before WW2 and the actions of Israel against Palestine. It's something that you aren't allowed to do. But surely someone who survived such treatment should be able to give their opinion?
Are these really the "wrong sort of Jews"?

All a bit complicated for me, I’m afraid.

I suppose I was just thinking of the remarks and ostracism towards Jewish members in the local Labour Party, where I used to live.

Any sort of racism or discrimination is wrong Peasblossom and I hope those people were dealt with. But did you realise that the members of staff responsible for delaying antisemitism complaints when Corbyn was leader were suspended, with an intended investigation into their actions, but Starmer reinstated them without bothering to investigate their actions. www.opendemocracy.net/en/opendemocracyuk/were-labours-antisemitism-failures-really-corbyns-fault/

Peasblossom Wed 12-Jan-22 21:56:00

No, I admit I haven’t really gone into the Starmer/Corbyn thing.

Just upset that good people who had spent their lives in the Labour Oarty were made to feel it was against them and anxious for the future.?

Peasblossom Wed 12-Jan-22 21:58:27

To be fair, other long-standing non-Jewish members got similar edging out treatment, but without the Jewish gibes.

Casdon Wed 12-Jan-22 22:00:36

I know that Mandelson has been one of the greatest Corbyn critics. It’s so transparent, please just form a separate party and we’ll all be happy.
