That man has no grace nor empathy, he should have handed the titles over but no he had to be stripped of them. He could have saved his mother, brother and William a lot of heartache. Now he is disgraced and serve him right

Prince Andrew stripped of his HRH
(213 Posts)And all his military titles have been returned to HM The Queen.
An individual who is trafficked to be used to provide sexual favours can’t give consent.

You need an emoji of someone banging their head against a brick wall ??.
I am not a royalist but my thoughts are with the Queen.
Some of her family have caused her so much heartache at a time when she is grieving for her husband.
Also she is faced with her government which is in disarray (to put it mildly)

So some people on here think he’s guilty and some people on here think he’s innocent - he should stand trial then surely? If he pays her off then that spesks volumes doesn’t it? Really shows up the whole archaic monarchical system for the nonsense that you can be born into a “ role” whether or not you have any qualities which fit that role or not.
Nothing at all to do with Royalty. Anyone with money , think Epstein, can pay her off. Wonder why she’s gone after Royalty when many others have , six I believe, and she flew on a trip to Thailand, supposedly been involved with her, mostly Americans. Seemingly everyone sees him as guilty, and now sure he won’t get a fair hearing. Remember Cliff. Obviously Andrew is not popular, just dislike the guilty verdict before anything proven.

The person she needs the most at the moment is Harry, who would have been perfect to take over Andrew’s military roles. She must feel so let down. I’ve never understood why Andrew is her favourite, though.
Is there anyone on gransnet or in the whole of the country who has not met Mr A Windsor! I really cannot give a fig as to what he is like! I don’t know him , never met him, never ever seen him in the flesh (ughhhh) my husband, father , grandfather, son, brother , great uncle, etc were not in the navy, so I have no amusing anecdote to tell!
The only people who I feel sorry for are his mother and his daughters! We are all going to get absolutely sick to the teeth with ‘here say’ stories and Garbage reporting from the Daily Mail and the red tops!! It will rumble on for weeks or months, just wait for the tv series, the feature film, live broadcast from USA and the book to accompany the series.
Let’s get over it now, !!! And just put ourselves in the queens shoes, as she must be feeling like her world is collapsing around her. Rant over!! If you don’t like this, well, tough t…ies, it just my view.
There is a difference between the statement from the Palace and the reports in the media. The media version is headlines like:-
"Queen strips Prince Andrew of all military titles and royal patronages" which implies that it was purely the Queen's decision, but the statement says:-
^ "With the Queen's approval and agreement, the Duke of York's military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to the Queen."^ which gives the impression that the move was by mutual consent,
The Guardian adds "It is understood the decision was taken by mutual agreement between the Queen and Andrew, but the ultimate decision would have fallen to the monarch."
I imagine she had a difficult time persuading him into "mutual agreement" to being effectively reduced to the ranks. He'll be even less chuffed if, as may happen, he ends up drummed out of the military. I wonder if there is a precedent for a Royal Duke being kicked out?
I understand what you're saying MayBee70 but by stripping Harry and Andrew of their roles, things have thankfully been made easier for Louis when he grows up. Another step towards slimming down the monarchy which Charles and William want.
erm....Charlotte???
Or are only the boys important?
Along with others I have a sneaky suspicion that Charlotte will actually be more important than George.
You think George will abdicate?
I'm not sure Anniebach, there is just something in George's demeanour that occasionally troubles me, whereas his sister is more than capable of doing the job already!! I hope he/she will be allowed to be their own person, monarch or not. Who knows?
Hard hat day and hiding behind the sofa for me.
I'm think less well of the queen for the way in which she has allowed this to be handled. Prince A couldn't retain his military roles, certainly, but he should have been allowed to resign from them himself, not 'be stripped of them', and she could have ensured that this was how it was put.
His behaviour was seedy and sordid and he has fallen into the hands of a gold-digger. The terminology of assault is legally correct we are told, but its use in in general conversation in the case of an older teenager with an apparently complicit father puts a gloss on it that seems excessive, as does 'trafficked'. I gather that one of the cited occasions was in London, where 17 is not under age.
Prince A has never been popular and probably not deserved to be. But it is possible to stand by the accuser while not condoning the crime, and I wish the queen had not allowed herself to be drawn into it, and I wish his daughters had spoken up for his better qualities. By all accounts he has been a good father.
I think that by the time it comes to George the standing of the Royal Family will have been much reduced. At the moment it is held in esteem by our generation because the Queen is the only monarch we know and she has upheld traditions familiar to us. I admired William in having his daughter’s place in the line of succession changed to make her equal to her brothers. There will be further changes I expect so George might well find that he can decide that he doesn’t want to be king after all.
William did not change the line of succession.
Josiesnn George may be a sensitive little boy like his paternal
Grandfather, if he is like Charles he will be a good king.

Whether Andrew is rude, arrogant, overbearing and entitled, it doesn't have any bearing on whether or not he is innocent.
As far as I am aware there have been no other accusations of inappropriate sexual misconduct throughout his life.
He was known a 'Randy Andy' long before these allegations ever saw the light of day, which must surely say something?
And hopefully by the time we have a King George or even a William, the Royal Family will have been trimmed back to the very minimum - there's absolutely no need for all those hangers-on with titles who do absolutely nothing in return.

Good!
Josieann George is just a little boy for goodness sake! What an unpleasant comment to make about a 9 year old child.
I’m horrified than you feel it necessary.
If Andrew had been the Queen's first born would he be our next King?
Off with her head!!!!

If Andrew had been the Queen's first born would he be our next King?
Yes.
Wonder how that would have gone with the Royalists?
I'm not taking any sides here, but I think we should remember that Prince Andrew has not been found guilty of anything yet.
Aren't we meant to be innocent until proved guilty?
Just saying.
I think less well of the Queen for the way in which she has allowed this to be handled.
Indeed. She should have acted sooner. I hope once Prince Charles and later Prince William are crowned that all these honorary titles are abolished. All the Dukedoms and Duchesses, all the Knights of the Garter. All should be abolished. We should just have the bare minimum, the king or queen, and their immediate family. Honours should be earned, not given as a gift by the monarch.
