As if there isn't enough evidence that Johnson is unfit for office

Now we read reports that senior civil servants and ministers were having to insist that Johnson works from the office and not from home due to red boxes, many of them full of highly sensitive information, laying about in the Downing Street flat, open for all to see including Carrie's pals and friends who were frequent visitors. It has been described as a 'Frat house atmosphere', with people in and out.

I wonder if people sent questionnaires will get together to fill them in so all the stories match? Wouldn’t be able to do that if interviewed individually.

Was it not the reason for not publishing Sue Gray's Inquiry in full was given as the need to prevent suspects finding out what others had said?

Why are they not being interviewed one by one? Who made that decision?

Possibly Cressida Dick?

Reminds me of the forms you have to fill in and sign when you enter the USA. Are you a terrorist? Are you a drug user?

I thought they were bizarre question, too grin

As if you're likely to answer 'yes' to them... hmm

But this 'emailed questionnaires' are troubling.

I don't know what these US forms say now, but I remember the first one I filled in had two consecutive questions which were, essentially:

1. Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?
2. Have you ever discriminated against anyone on the basis of political belief?

It was tempting to answer, to no 2, "No, but clearly you do"

There's also a lovely story of Gilbert Harding answering the question "Do you intend to overthrow by force the government of the United States?": "Sole purpose of visit". I don't know whether he got in or not.

They probably used email to speed things up and to work out who if anyone actually needed interviewing. Despite the public feeling these are not particularly high ranking as far as crime goes

Doodledog

That all presupposes that Cummings doesn’t have another surprise up his sleeve. Johnson is in so deep he might deem it worth trying to wriggle out if it with another bare faced lie; but if I were a junior minister with a long career ahead of me I’d be concerned about a perjury charge ruining my future.

Not an easy position for them to be put in, is it? An honourable boss would spare them the anguish.

I agree. It has been said by many political commentators that Johnson is toxic, and has ruined many a career by association. Allegra Stratton, Lord Geidtz, Brownlow, many of the Downing Street 'civilians'. He has no loyalty, just uses people and discards them. Although I am no fan of Owen Patterson, it is reported that he heard it was all over for him when a journalists broke it to him, Johnson didn't even have the courtesy to phone Patterson to apologise and let him know what was happening. So, if I was a young politico starting out, I would be carefully distancing myself from Johnson on the basis that he will likely throw me under a bus to save himself.

Johnson’s process of employing Dido Harding has been ruled unlawful.

There’s a thought. If, as Johnson says, we’re now out of the pandemic, when are we going to get the report of the governments handling of it?

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 15-Feb-22 12:10:59

Did he say that?

MayBee70 Tue 15-Feb-22 12:14:20

Well he implied it when he said all restrictions were going to end soon and that we were the first country to do so. I think he said it last week? I lose track to be honest. So much happening: blink and you’ll miss it.

He really is an incompetent booby. Of course, he's terribly busy preventing World War III....

Yes I always have to grin when he appears trying to be VERY SERIOUS talking about Ukraine.

He is such a prat. Nothing he says we can’t work out for ourselves.

Trying to play his idol, Churchill.

John Bercow has branded Boris Johnson a “narcissist” in a blistering attack in which he accused the prime minister of being “responsible for a catalogue of failures”.

The former Speaker of the House of Commons said that it is time that he exited Downing Street and “beetled off into the distance”.

Apparently Teresa May kept certain information from him during his time as Foreign Secretary because he was perceived as not being able to keep things to himself.
