You see the thing is fairfraise the shut up woman thing is used mainly by really abusive men on the internet. So strangely enough some women are a bit wary of that kind of tedious nonsense.

I’m not Scottish and consequently not an SNP supporter GrannyGravy13, but goady posts like this about any politician would inevitably produce a furious response - I knew Urmstongran had written it from the title, before even reading the post. If I was Scottish I wouldn’t be happy at all, particularly about the completely inaccurate attempt to compare Scotland to Greater Manchester.

?? Scotland has 5 million residents & Gtr. Manchester has 2.7 million residents (according to Wiki). So maybe Andy Burnham x 2.

Urms can criticise all she likes, as long as she can substantiate what she has posted. She has not on numerous occasions.

As for an unwritten rule, regarding NS, that is yet another, unsubstantiated blanket statement!
An OP like that, should ideally contain the source of the information.

As another poster has stated, it was a goady post, that is what I am challenging, not any perceived criticism of NS.

But Urmstongran Greater Manchester is a region of England. Scotland is a country. The population of Scotland is larger than that of many existing countries, not that population size is relevant anyway, as you know.

I would have thought the "unwritten law" would be not to bully but rather to argue using critical thinking.

When you sink to using something personal that the person cannot change such as where you were born, your colour or your sex you are bullying. It has always been the first line of a bully to accuse others of not having a sense of humour. I would guess most of us don't find bullying funny.

Much of this post is about culture politics with little to show any sign of intellectual discipline. This is a war we are discussing not the latest edition of a soap opera. It is the same culture politics that allows some in Russia to believe what they are being told by their government.

The unwritten law on GN should surely be that we don't bully. We seem to have some who didn't leave bullying behind as they grew up, sadly.

I think the sat nav route might take you into some pack ice. The long way round via the Panama canal a couple of months and the only ports he has open at the moment are via the Baltic Sea, North Sea and the Atlantic.
