OK, I’m fed up with this so I did a bit of research. There are 1,000 people employed in the royal household. So, direct employment 1,000 people. Who could still be employed by the RF or the Palaces if their jobs are so vital.

There are people employed in estates and what have you, but those estates would still exist because the people currently in the RF would still be rich posh folks with estates. So we can discount those jobs for our purposes.

So, small business support. Rich posh folks will still have enough time on their hands to support and mentor small businesses, if they want to. Sir Tom Hunter was born in New Cumnock and started off selling trainers from the back of a van. He’s now worth about a billion pounds and has donated millions to support young entrepreneurs, both practically and in training. He didn’t need to be a member of the RF to do that, so the RF can continue doing it if they want to.

Small businesses? What small businesses? The gift shop in Holyrood House? Or places that need financial support? Sir Tom’s got that covered, he can help Charles and the rest keep on doing it after the RF is no longer required for waving and document signing duties.

16,000 jobs are at risk with McColl’s going into receivership. Maybe we can sell the RF and buy McColl’s instead. It would keep more people in employment. (joke, before anyone gets offended.)

I have high hopes that Charles will modernise the monarchy. A make over is long overdue and essential if the succession is to succeed.
