Yes, because the alternative is the SNP here.
Well, that was a farce.........

Just wondering if those who voted Conservative at the last General Election will do so next time? I ask the question in light of all the scandals associated with this Government, together with the lack of action taken to mitigate the effects of the ‘cost of living crisis’ (despite France, Spain and several other European countries giving much more help to their people), abandoning the Triple Lock (despite retaining it being in their manifesto).
Yes, because the alternative is the SNP here.
Depends upon candidates but I most certainly won’t be voting labour or any other what political parties
I became politicized in 1979 after the Winter of Discontent which was truly awful where I lived at the time (Scotland). I have voted Tory since then, but will never vote Tory while BJ is leader and Pritti Patel a member of the cabinet.

What did the Conservatives inherit from Labour? A mess. Then there was the global financial crisis. Or had you forgotten?
What on earth are you on about? The global financial crisis, triggered by the collapse of the sub-prime mortgage market in the US, was before the change of government. Gordon Brown's reaction was much respected at the time and prevented the UK experiencing a disaster. The economy was showing signs of recovery by 2010, when the Conservatives (specifically Osborne) introduced so-called austerity, which killed off the recovery and meant hardship for many. Even before Covid, the country's debt under the Tories had risen to unprecedented levels. Why on earth is history being rewritten? And, even more importantly, why are people falling for it?
usuallyright
Yes, I will continue to vote Conservative because, they are the party that has done the most good for the people of this country, who do not even realise the fact, even in the extraordinary times that we are suffering at the moment, caused by external events, not by them.
What about Gordon Brown who sold off half of our gold reserves, and, Blair who took us to war in Iraq?
What good was having gold reserves to the country?
What planet are you on? Anyone but those fools who think we are all as idiotic as them
You must be joking!
I am not saying voting Labour is any better but I can't vote Tory. I remember the blocking up of coal mines by Heseltine, the closure of libraries by Cameron and the pure hatred that Thatcher had towards to civil servants. During the bombing in Birmingham we as government employees were told outright lies about our alleged safety. Changes in policy had to be found on teletext rather than providing us with information. Even though my father was labour, i was brought up with the myth that labour local authorities charged higher council tax than conservative led authorities. I now live in Devon - it has been run by conservatives for so many years and my uncle even became a conservative councilor in Cornwall. the charges are roughly £500 more than Birmingham city which historically had labour in power. Just check the council tax for local authorities and you will see that the Tories are not as good as you think. This partygate is nothing in comparison to what has been done
I have never voted Tory and never will. The only time my views have ever really been represented by Labour was when Jeremy Corbyn was the leader, and I certainly don't feel that Keir Starmer's party is my political home. The LibDems have no real principles and change as the wind changes. The Greens are okay but have no real power, and hardly ever stand in my constituency anyway. I suppose I will reluctantly vote Labour. Makes no difference, as I live in a safe Tory seat.
In my experience of talking to people online, younger people blame the old for the horrible mess that our country is in, because it was the oldies who voted this bunch of crooks into power. They look at the broken promises - the Triple Lock, the free TV licences, the reform of social care, the money and support for the NHS - and wonder what the hell the older generation was thinking. I'm afraid that they guess it was mainly due to greed and selfishness, ie prosperous retirees with lots of assets to protect. Oh, and a fear of immigrants.
I have tried to point out that there are 2.1 million UK pensioners living below the poverty line and lots of oldies would never vote Tory anyway, but sometimes I have a sneaking feeling that they might be right. Maybe a lot of older people do vote Tory because "Pull up the ladder, Jack - I'm all right."
Quite a few turkeys voting for Christmas I see. The Tories want the more elderly in society dead. Pensions? 2nd lowest in Europe. Health service to be privatised so enjoy paying for your medications and operations. The Tory party are smashing up the country and it is the young people who will pay. It is so very sad. Please remember, this is not the Conservative party of the past when there were MPs with some sort of moral compass, even if you didn't agree with them. This lot are sex and drugs and alcohol. Oh yes, and take money from the Russians who are now destroying Ukraine.
Definitely not - how can we trust them to represent us when they are such self serving liars
I definitely will vote Tory again, for crying out loud can you imagine Diane Abbott as Home Secretary, or that foul mouth Barbie doll as Deputy PM, no way! God help us!!
Diane Abbott will never be anything - Starmer replaced her as soon as he took over from Corbyn.
Like Corbyn, she's yesterday's news.
If someone took over at Labour, like Corbyn, I'd never vote for them, but if they carry on reforming to centre left and electable, I would.
yes because I live in a London Borough with 15 labour councillors and 2 labour MPs and the whole place is going to hell in a handcart, if there was another choice I'd made it

To be fair, I live in a "blue" Tory borough where they weigh the Tory votes.
Every MP is Tory, the council have been Tory for many decades, and, we too, are going up hell in the proverbial handcart.
Historically, the LDs used to be the best at running councils.
I always voted Tory except one time when I was very cross with Mrs. Thatcher. Now this government clearly wishes all elderly people were dead I won't be voting for them. We don't have a credible party to take over though do we? I guess whoever promises the elderly the most will get my vote. Not that we can rely on the Tories not to break any election promises. Actually I have no idea who I will vote for. I don't trust any of them.
No
Never have. Never will.
The LibDems have run our District Council well for over 35 years, in spite of an appalling Tory controlled County Council for most of that time.
We are now about to vote for a Unitary Authority, imposed by the Government and CC against the wishes of the clear majority of those who voted in a local referendum.
I know that some local Tories might not mind having an MP accused of sexual harrassment and using class A drugs, or having a PM who is a proven liar, but let's hope those are in the minority and that we end up with a Liberal Democrat County.
No, used to but cannot support a party too week to oust a lying cheat.
hear hear
My views are the same as Bluecat's.
We need a (non violent) revolution to break the control of the wealthy But people are too lazy. And think that by admiring the rich, they too will become rich.
I'm not a Communist .
Just before I retired I thought a party of retired people would be the answer., I think it was set up in a small way but never took off.

She's back.
welcome!! We really need you.

I bet there were just as many rule breakers in the Labour Party and other Political parties but the weren't as carefully watched or spied on. They did wrong shouldn't have but I bet there were others with as much responsibility that did the same.
I think we can be sure that if there was the slightest irregularity in the behaviour of any Labour party candidates the Tory supporting press would have had it on the front pages by now. Look at the fuss and whataboutery when Starmer was photographed, by long distance lens, having a beer (?) in a constituency office while working on a by election.
Yes I will.
The Conservatives are the only party who know and acknowledge what a woman is.
The others are all set on asset taxes. If you had a house worth £500,000 if it were only at the rate of 5% you would pay £25,000 A YEAR. And that's without other assets like pension forecasts. Can you afford that, because I can't. Labour, LibDem and the Greens all support mansion/asset taxes.
