A man who was observed masturbating on different days in three separate stores has been jailed for eight months.

Bo Yu (38) masturbated both on the shop floor of each of the stores and in one of the store’s changing rooms.

Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard that Yu was arrested following the final incident in which he was masturbating while at one of the store’s tills. He was found to be in possession of a sex toy, an unused condom and lubricants at the time of his arrest.

Yu, of Swiftbrook Drive, Tallaght, pleaded guilty to public masturbation at House of Fraser, Dundrum, on November 27th and 30th, 2019. He also pleaded guilty to public masturbation at Penneys, Dundrum, and at Marks & Spencer, Dundrum, both on December 3rd, 2019. He has no previous convictions.

He claimed to suffer both physical and emotional abuse from his father and he dressed as a woman “as a means of dealing with his stress and anxiety”.

At a previous hearing, a security guard at House of Fraser told Diarmuid Collins BL, prosecuting, that on the first date in November 2019, he noticed Yu wearing a dress and a wig while masturbating in the women’s section.

The security guard said that on the second date in November 2019, Yu was again observed masturbating in the store. Gardaí­ were contacted on both occasions.

A detective told Mr Collins that on the date in December 2019, a security manager at Penneys in Dundrum saw the accused man masturbating and then going into the women's changing rooms. Yu touched a number of items in the store, which were then removed and not sold.

Yu was told to leave the changing room and told to take with him a used condom found on a seat.

The detective said that on the same date, Yu was observed applying liquid to his hand and masturbating in the lingerie section of Marks & Spencer in Dundrum. The accused man then went to the till to pay for tights and was masturbating while at the till. Gardaí­ were called and they arrested Yu.

When this subject first came up - 2010 Equality Act - I had heard about it and read about it superficially.
The law covers various other groups who may be disadvantaged because of their status eg age, race, disabilities particularly when it comes to employment. Lots of pressure on employers to employ more people who are 'different'.
I thought the legal system on gender identification would have developed further but evidently not.
IMO because of the lack of consistent language definition, Which Law in this country always demands.

Knowing the Graunian's stance, I cannot honestly imagine that they'll do anything about him, despite the external investigation, but he should be sacked immediately. So an 18 year old with gender problems who has been out of education for two years (those two things couldn't possibly be connected could they?) tested Monsoon. Was it a bit silly- yes. Did it harm anyone? No. Is it possibly linked with their gender issues? well yes! But heaven forbid anyone should show any compassion. A rapist who sent inappropriate messages to a young girl in an effort to groom her days after being released from prison is back behind bars.

Joshua Bate, who is now said to identify as a female, ‘Lily', asked the child, who was under the age of 13, if she wanted to 'spoon' with her and that she'd like to 'kiss her lips' on January 3. But the child instead notified an adult about the messages, and Bate was arrested soon after.

Bate, 25, had been out of prison only a few days after serving a seven year prison sentence for rape, Durham Crown Court heard on Wednesday. She appeared at the court on Wednesday, via link from HMP Durham, to be sentenced for inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Bate admitted to officers she was 'attracted to children of both sexes'.

In her victim statement, the girl’s mother told the court she now regretted the “snap decision” to allow Bate to stay at her home, adding: “He says he wishes to change sex and identity.
“He’s a sex offender no matter what changes he makes.
“I feel he’s a danger to everybody, but particularly vulnerable people and younger girls.”

The court was told Bate had been given a seven-year prison sentence in August 2015 for raping a woman, but had been released on licence. In May 2020, Bate went on to sexually assault a schoolgirl on a bus.

Under current Ministry of Justice guidelines, Bate would be sent to a male prison in the first instance but can request a transfer to a female facility.

So he rapes women, sexually assaults children and grooms children for sexual assault. And he can request to be housed with women. Because those are his rights.

I thought education was compulsory until 18 unless you had an approved apprenticeship, but happy to be proved wrong. So Charlie isn't the naive innocent you portrayed? Is Charlie transgender or non-binary? Could Charlie do anything that would make you criticise Charlie? Why am I not the least bit surprised Charlie is a LibDem activist? Nobody wants to lynch Charlie, but do you really approve of Charlie's description of the sales assistant involved? (especially the "badly drawn on eyebrows") or does Charlie having a penis absolve Charlie of common decency?
