Was Prince Charles right to make his views about the Rwanda plan widely known?

'allegations' are merely gossip. Anyone can trash someone elses reputation by making totally unsubstantiated 'allegations'

I could accuse Gransnet of being part of the illuminati and hand in hand with Hilary Cinton in running a paedophile ring. Someone would say 'I believe it' even though the statement is merely an exercise in silly ideas to illustrate a point.

The Royal family are facing allegations of racism. From more than one source. They have agreed that they need to investigate internally.

This discussion seems to have moved away from the comments Prince Charles is alleged to have made. It’s going to be discussed on Jeremy Vine’s show. I’ll watch that to see what people think.

The advantage of getting the job because of "who your mum is," is that is the status quo. Tories are mostly all in their jobs because of their expensive educations or social contacts. Even labour MPs get off to a flying start if they have family money or social contacts.

My point is it's simpler to dismiss bad MPs and bad monarchs than it is to elect them or rely solely on family background.

I've never been that happy with the status quo, in anything. So many missed opportunities.

To get back toand a dream of becoming a doctor. the original post there is an interesting article in the Times today "Refugees shouldn't be sent to Rwanda. It's appalling and inhumane. It could have happened to my brother."It is written by Dr Waheed Arian , a former refugee and is about getting his family out of Afghanistan.He talks about arriving as a refugee on his own when he was 15. He arrived with some money , next to no education because of the war . He worked at many jobs funded himself through education and eventually won a place at Cambridge to read medicine. He works for the NHS as an A&E doctor.Perhaps we should be more open to giving these people a chance Let them work as they want to. Heaven knows there seems to be any amount of companies looking for people.He then goes on about the difficulties of getting the family out, saying " there is no route to safety that is legal or safe and no future that offers any hope if they remain "

You would hardly be a living person if you were. Until we are moribund we are always looking ahead to what's next. guess you are more energetic than many others to make this a better world and my guess is you are a political animal and a lefty at that.

All progress has to start from an arbitrary status quo. My point is that if there is something politically or morally useful about a monarch, why change what is not broken?

I was delighted to hear on the news that 71% of Labour were against the Rwanda.
Now please can they follow it up with their solution to the people being smuggled over here in increasingly large boats and show the Tories how it should be done?
