At least it's not boring with old Boris in charge.

Life in Ukraine is not boring at the moment. Is that something you would recommend as an alternative to boredom?

Johnson is an arrogant, ammoral, immoral b*****d, who is damaging the country, our international standing, and his party, by his Trumpian behaviour.

If that for you justfies all he is putting the country, his supporters through, on the grounds at least he is not a bore. I am happy to buy you a single ticket to Ukraine.

I’m currently watching the Liaison Committee. I would put money on BJ losing it any time soon. The MP’s questioning him are not being particularly gracious and one referred jokingly to a Moscow Show trial!

Grandmabatty

whitewavemark I doubt that particular poster is happy at the loss of Trump.

Thank you - beginning to recover now.

Watching the Liaison Committee questioning - My goodness he is toast - how on earth can he survive?

Chief whip in no 10.

Latest count on resignations May v Johnson - 52 to 54 and counting. Well he does like to be first.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 06-Jul-22 16:43:34

So does that mean what? 148+33 = definitely toast I presume

I’m just sat slobbing on the sofa?.

Me too! Enjoying seeing him squirm. ?

Devorgilla Wed 06-Jul-22 16:55:29

If your comment was directed to me WW2, it is resignations of minsters/juniors since becoming PM. BJ has now overtaken May according to Ian Jones on Twitter.

Devorgilla Wed 06-Jul-22 16:58:58

Yes, Ladyleftfieldlover, defo more than the odd flash of anger. Close to losing it. Just finished by the look of it.

I have a WI committee meeting at 6 pm. I’m chairing it so I don’t think it will last long. Bets on Johnson going before midnight?

Iam64 Wed 06-Jul-22 17:00:17

I came in ten mins ago, put the tv on. Excruciating watching Johnson squirm. How can he continue?
Is he capable of asking the Queen to dissolve Parliament so he can lead the tories into an election?

Whitewavemark2 Wed 06-Jul-22 17:03:12

So what they are worried about is that if Johnson is forced to resign he will go to the Queen ( poor soul) and call a snap election, which will cause further chaos.

Not sure how that would work tbh as mor3 than half of his MPs don’t support him.

Be brilliant if the Queen told him to sod off - quoting Tommy Lascelles

She has been practising her hard stare with lessons from Paddington Bear.

He’s got to go. He can’t call an election - surely?! He’d have to be an independent with the few tories who support him. A new Tory party running a separate campaign ??

Whitewavemark2 Wed 06-Jul-22 17:10:46

If I was her I’d borrow Paddington’s hat to add gravitas to the occasion.

I think that the Tories are s…t scared that he will call an election, they tried to pin him down at the Committee.

Iam64 Wed 06-Jul-22 17:12:54

Given her friendship with Paddington, they could see Johnson together and tell him to s*d off together

Maybe he thinks he’ll save face by doing so. He wouldn’t stand for re-election, and would avoid the ignominy of being a back bencher for the next two+ years, which he would hate. I don’t think he cares in the slightest about anything but himself.

It is rumoured that Nadhim Zahawi is either resigning or telling Johnson to resign.
It’s like A Game of Thrones!

Who’s next?

Bet you never thought there would be 35 within 24 hours and plenty more to come???

VioletSky Wed 06-Jul-22 17:22:38

It's been a roller coaster ride, that's for sure

growstuff Wed 06-Jul-22 17:28:25

Wow! So Nadhim Zahawi allegedly told Johnson to make him Chancellor or he'd quit too. Then, within 24 hours, he's one of the MPs who told Johnson to resign.
