Sunak - State of Emergency

Apparently the country faces 5 national emergencies. NHS, economy, immigration etc. I think that I must have missed something, I thought that we had had a Tory government for 12 years so who is responsible for bringing the country to it's knees??

I just wish someone would lead us. Take control. Have the guts to make some important decisions. We seem to be flailing around in choppy waters. It’s a mess.

I just don't think more state control of this, that and the next thing will help, mainly because it clearly hasn't helped so far. You can put me in the Kemi Kamp if you need a label.

The NHS is already, to a great extent, in the hands of private providers. Don't be fooled by the NHS logo! It could very well be that if the profiteers were stripped out and the money spent on patient care, that the NHS could offer a better service.

Kemi Badenoch doesn't give two hoots for people who can't afford to pay for private health care.

You voted for it, Ug.

On that basis Baggs are you suggesting anarchy as the only solution to a failing government?

No.

As I said – implied anyway – the most sensible-sounding politician I've heard of late has been Kemi Badenoch. She talks about the state doing less better and I agree with what that implies, which is that the State is interfering in lots of things it really shouldn't be interfering in.

I'm sorry that Kemi isn't in the fnal two. If I had a vote I'd have vote for her. I think her time will come and let's hope whoever becomes PM just now gives her a good position in Cabinet where she can say more sensible things and maybe actually get something useful done to improve the state of the country.

Why are you so impressed with Badenoch?

growstuff Sat 23-Jul-22 12:38:33

PS. I feat that she will be given a cabinet role. I just hope, for the sake of the country, that she never becomes PM.

growstuff Sat 23-Jul-22 12:39:18

What kind of things do you think the state is interfering in?

I'm being thick Maizie. What do you mean?

PS. Typo in my previous post. "Feat" should be "fear".

CNN reporting that the Tories have made such a mess that they will almost certainly lose the next election.

??

Daisymae Haven't you noticed that there has been a global pandemic which is still ongoing, plus the war in Ukraine?

Sparklefizz Haven't you noticed that the global pandemic and the war in Ukraine have not affected services in other European countries as much as in the UK? Here in Erupe we're generally doing OK thank you.

Just because it is not being reported in the UK doesn't mean it is not happening.

Farmers are protesting across Europe. It started in the Netherlands and has spread.

What things does the state get involved that it shouldn’t? Welfare? Health? Education? Police? It should be more involved in lots more things such as the climate crisis and the environment imho.
