Why did she bother.? Must have cost squillions.

If you'd ever seen Colleen with her severely disabled sister you'd might not call her an airhead, TerriT

Due to sad circumstances we met at the children's hospice, Claire House.

She's a brave and kind young woman

Chewbacca Sat 30-Jul-22 23:39:21

? Zoejory. And she could, as she was entitled to do, have applied for damages to be paid to her but she's rejected that and said she wants nothing further from Mrs Vardy; she just wants to get on with her life.

Louisa53. We are all entitled to our opinion. They both act like air heads as far as I’m concerned so stand by my opinion. It bothers me not a jot you see my opinion as judgemental. That’s your opinion and you are entitled to it as I am to mine. Seems like no one is entitled to have an opinion theses days !

Who said you aren’t entitled to an opinion? You expressed it strongly, others disagree and express different opinions. It’s a discussion board.

I can’t understand why mature posters get all hotheaded about 2 people they don’t even know on GN.
It happens time and time again.
We can’t trust everything we read in the papers.

I think it’s possibly because time and time again we see the courts being tied up with nonsense like this from people who clearly have more money than sense. The nastiness in their personal lives spills over into horrendously expensive, frivolous law suits with the resulting media frenzy, and the only people who benefit are the lawyers. I think people have woken up to the fact that there are far more important things going on in the world and the public machinations of the rich and famous are becoming less and less acceptable.

Whats the betting it will be on netflix before the solicitors cheques ink dries.
A pair of over indulged morons imo.

8 million???? For kicking a ball around a field??? shock

Yep. And the sense of entitlement we’ve seen as a result of the court case is what happens when you believe your own publicity and that you’re actually worth what you’re paid. It’s not just footballers, it’s an endless line of vacuous ‘celebrities’ paid a fortune for nothing in particular beyond being in the right place at the right time. When the country is in such a state and so many people are genuinely suffering, it’s taking the p* !!

Increased my respect for Coleen Rooney. Silly money grabbing Becca. Must have been told over and over not to carry on. Did she not notice Coleen is a bright girl with a bit of grit.

Allsorts Sun 31-Jul-22 11:55:35

Not interested in either, but how entitled these people are spending millions, making lawyers money, and all the time they used to love attention and social media. Why don’t they put their energies and the time they obviously have, into helping people less fortunate. I would hate their lives, to be like that.

henetha Sun 31-Jul-22 11:56:30

I think I heard that channel 4 are going to make a drama/documentary about this.
Calling them over indulged morons is unfair, in my opinion.

tickingbird Sun 31-Jul-22 12:41:30

I find it really strange that all the usual grans that race onto the H&am threads to castigate others for being nasty and vindicative about them aren’t fussed about the vitriol spouted over these two.

There’s been some pretty nasty comments on this thread and, I suspect, a lot of it stems from snobbery and money envy. Neither have the money or the clout that H&M do so why the disparity? H&M bring court cases willy nilly, costing just as much and tying up just as much court time, but nobody is calling them moronic airheads.

If RV wishes to sue for libel she can, whether it was justified or not. CR had no choice but to defend the action. It’s the media that create the drama. They’re the ones filling column inches and sending film crews etc to ensure every entrance into and then out of the court is headline news.

I'm going to be really mean spirited here but I suspect that Rebecca likes being in the limelight, whether it is positive or negative. She didn't come across very well when she was in the jungle either <I watch very low brow television dot com>

Smileless2012 Sun 31-Jul-22 14:35:29

There's only one over indulged moron as far as I can see, and she isn't Coleen.

Smileless2012 Sun 31-Jul-22 14:36:08

Me too Jane love the jungle grin.

Joseanne Sun 31-Jul-22 16:16:53

I know very little about these two footballers' wives, but if an experienced judge has found that one is making up stories, being nasty and seeking attention while the other is being more sensible and reasonable, then that is good enough for me.

Joseanne Sun 31-Jul-22 16:17:58

But it was all a waste of money and time.

I can’t deny RV appears to love the limelight and hasn’t come out of this at all well but I can’t understand all the vitriol towards CR.

Lots of women thought Colleen was wrong to carry on with her marriage when Wayne played away from home/ was a naughty boy.
Unless it’s domestic violence I make no judgement on other peoples marriages.

Iam64 Sun 31-Jul-22 20:24:31

Colleen is from a fairly traditional working class Catholic family. Divorce will be a real last resort, plus the impression is she loves Wayne and looks after/tries to keep him in line like she does her (other) boy children.
I couldn’t find it in my heart to criticise her for wanting to keep her marriage as stable as possible with 4 little boys to care fir

Well people are just nasty and make assumptions about other people who they think don't share their values.

I keep seeing pictures of the two of them but I don't know which is which really. I called someone in the public eye a moron/carrot recently and got ganged up on for it, and deleted When it comes to footballers wives, it seems anything goes.

If we keep having a thread about them every 2.73 days then I might be moved to comment on the unfairness of it all. Till then...

Callistemon21 Sun 31-Jul-22 20:43:32

From what I've heard of Colleen Rooney over the years she is a sensible young woman who has raised a lot of money for charity over the years, including generous donations to a local hospice. She didn't marry Wayne for his money as they met way before he was famous.

Rebekah Vardy was trying to make a fast buck by betraying someone who thought she was a friend.

Iam64 Sun 31-Jul-22 21:22:47

Wayne and Colleen met at school

M0nica Mon 01-Aug-22 07:09:32

I read somee critical press about RV some years ago, but just assumed it was the usual nasty tittle tattle because she had been married before and was now marrying a famous and RICH footballer.

Her behaviour over this case fits in with what I read then.

DillytheGardener Mon 01-Aug-22 08:01:14

smileless yes I keep thinking of his parents and hope that he will see sense and that his parents disapproval of his marriage to RV which caused the estrangement, was completely justified.

I don’t know anything about Jamie’s upbringing, but if it was anything like my experience of football mad sons, his parents would have spent vast amounts of time on the weekends and weeknights driving to games, standing on the sidelines while your feet turn into blocks of ice, washing filthy kits and shoes. I hope he sees sense and let’s his parents back into his life.
