On the other hand, why were 6 weeks needed for Truss and Sunak to do their stuff? Such a tiny number of people will be voting for them - did they really need six weeks? All while this country is in uproar and desperately in need of some sort of government. Johnson is still PM and there is also a deputy. Utter madness. One week, maybe two, to ensure the voting papers were sent out and returned. When I was a member of the Labour Party we voted for the new leader on line. I’m afraid this dreadful government just aren’t good at making the right choice.
