Just reading that there are worries about King Charles and his hands, what nonsense.It’s old age, mine are much the same.
It is a difficult week for him health wise though. He is not a young man anymore.

I thought all that hand shaking was going to take its toll on both him and Camilla.
Some people think that giving a firm handshake is the right thing to do, perhaps in some circumstances but not to someone who has to shake hundreds of hands.

My point, which I'm sure I did not explain clearly, is that the late Queen and now King Charles are not monarch of Scotland because Scotland is part of the UK, but because they are monarch of Scotland as a separate entity. Just as, for instance, they are monarch of New Zealand, or Australia.

There was some announcer on BBC yesterday who didn't know why the Royal Standard is different in Scotland. This explains why.

I think it's just presented that way out of consideration for Scottish feelings. Australia can have a referendum any time they want to get rid of the UK King. Scotland can only do it when the UK government says so.

The famous journalist who wrote Harry and Meghan's biography and who is at the head of their PR team broadcast yesterday that the Queen's coffin would travel from Scotland "over to the UK'".
Doesn't bode well for anyone when those who are supposed to know it all can't even get that right!

I think he went back to Scotland once in 1617. Like most rulers he had a mix of blood. His grandmother was French and probably other things as well, Margaret Tudor was partly Welsh, with Elizabeth Woodville thrown in through her mother Elizabeth of York, and so it went on. That's what makes history so fascinating as it's full of if, buts, and maybe's.

I find that threads that accuse people of being like terrorists never end well.

Would you like to quote where that happened. It's at least the second time you have said it without a quote.

He's a year older than me and I can say, without any fear of being contradicted by those that know me, I do not have his stamina. I don't think I know anyone of our age would does.
He has done brilliantly. You don't need to like him as a Royal. As a human being you could not ask more.

I understand from what I have read that Charles may suffer from dactylitis a form of psoriatic arthritis in the fingers. He also has rosacea.

I feel sorry for Charles right now. He's doing too much. A lot of it would have waited.

I think the Duke of Windsor, probably when he was Prince of Wales, on some royal tour, had to resort to shaking hands with his left hand as he had shaken so many with his right hand that it became extremely painful.

with his left hand, right hand was strapped, from hand shaking

I seem to remember the walkpasts were handled differently with the Queen Mother. They only walked down one side and the guard change came down the steps so the visitors didn't have to stop filing past at every guard change. And the line moved faster. But they did close the place for an hour every night. However the rules while queueing were more relaxed and people did have chairs and tents.

Being like terrorists and sounding like the terrorists do is really a long way from being the same thing. You don't go in for being exact, do you? Just as long as it serves your purpose.

I don't know if anyone heard/saw it, but they had an ex high-level police officer who had dealt with such gatherings. He was saying that there will be plans in place and used a thunderstorm as an example of something that might cause everyone to rush. That may be why they didn't allow chairs, etc.

The Duke of Gloucester looked like he was struggling with the long walk. He’s 78.

The King and Queen have had enough of being with people for a little while, and have each gone back to their own homes for a day or so. (The King to Highgrove and the Queen to Ray Mill House) I don't blame them!
