I think it's often quite difficult for men to understand that to be honest. I watched an interview with him once where he announced that all toilets should be unisex. You could tell that he hadnt thought for one second about whether women would agree with him on that, whether they would be comfortable. It was utterly irrelevant to him. He has never had to think about it, a change of clothes isnt going to change that.

I’m going to have to hide this thread as he makes me so angry.
I met him years ago, before he was famous. I was with my friend and he seemed very scared of young, attractive women.

I am not familiar with this man and by the sound of it I think I prefer it that way. What gives any male the right to use a female toilet? I still have a memory of a foul male coming into a toilet when my daughters were very young and left a toilet door open. That is the danger if men are allowed to just stroll in. There are plenty of filthy creeps around, unfortunately.

Men however they are dressed have no rights to use Female Toilets.

I think this problem would be solved if venues of all kinds had ONE toilet marked 'unisex' which is separate from male and female toilets. A notice below saying it is for transgender people just to be clear. Then everyone can get on with doing their business in a space they feel comfortable in.

I spent a day with Izzard at the hustings a few years ago. He seemed a pleasant enough person.

Can’t agree with him using female loos though. He needs to be more sensitive to the harm females have suffered as a result of men encroaching onto these spaces.

Perhaps we need lavatories that are non-binary?

I think the great pity about the article in the OP is that it uses every possible slur to discredit Izzard. Simply saying "he's a nice person but I disagree with him on this" isn't apparently strong enough, a bit of character assassination is necessary as well. Such a pity women have to continue using the same tactics men always have..

That would be seen as drawing attention to trans people .
What's needed are separate, individual toilets, each with a handbasin.

Of course that would remove the communal space which is sometimes very useful in women's toilets.

I have actually been in men's toilets a couple of times, - but accidentally,- being short sighted and a bit vague at times.
Eddie Izard is someone I always liked and respected, and she has done some amazing events for charity.
Nevertheless, she is still a man and should absolutely not enter ladies toilets. No way.

I support the creation of unisex toilets absolutely. Male, female and unisex of course. Unisex would be for anyone who felt comfortable using them, men, women, etc. Single sexed toilets available for those who need them.

I don't actually need to "excuse" anything he/she did. I don't care which toilet he/she uses. So the idea that I am excusing anything is totally wrong. I'm simply saying object by all means, but if you need to assassinate a character, and link with paedophiles to do it, don't expect me to think that's OK.

That's quite funny after you have just told me (wrongly) what I intended

Good on that woman for photographing someone in a restroom, we should all be taking pictures of people in restrooms and publicising them online so we can discuss whether they have the right sort of genitals under their clothes or if they are a menace to society.

In fact, let's just live stream the whole thing. Cameras in toilet bowls will flush out the interlopers.

If that's too expensive, we can just take the cubicle doors off. That way we can all feel comfortable no one is hiding a sausage.

If these are accepted gender critical arguments it surely won't be long until the rest of society shoves them in the same basket as flat earthers and they just become people we pat on the head and say "there there" too because ultimately they cannot do any harm.

Ultimately trans people need a wee and sometimes a poo of they are desperate enough do so in a public restroom due to a dodgy curry or something.
