Come on Lib Dems, time to overtake them?

FannyCornforth Fri 14-Oct-22 07:06:35

Mmm, I love a chocolate torte! ?

Whitewavemark2 Fri 14-Oct-22 07:10:57

Bugger??

You’d only have 4 bits though.

That is the number of seats the Tories would have if there was an election??

FannyCornforth Fri 14-Oct-22 07:11:19

Sorry WW smile
I’m surprised that the Greenies aren’t ahead of the LibDems

Whitewavemark2 Fri 14-Oct-22 07:16:52

It’s OK, good to have a grin.

M0nica Fri 14-Oct-22 07:18:13

The Lib Dems are a lost cause - and I speak as a member of the party.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 14-Oct-22 07:20:22

Oh dear. I wouldn’t say that tbh.

Look at all the seats absolutely ripe for the picking in the Tory heartland. A massive push by the Lib Dems will see the Tories off I’m sure.

M0nica Fri 14-Oct-22 07:27:15

A massive push by the Lib Dems will see the Tories off I’m sure.

It might do, but the chances of it happening are so small. It might also lead voters to look at Lob Dem policies.

The Lib Dems have any policies?

As I said, I belong to the party, but mainly because there is no other hole I can go to.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 14-Oct-22 07:33:57

Their last manifesto wasn’t something to be sneezed at I thought?

The point is politics is a funny old game and I would never be surprised at anything, but I do think this last decade will be seen as an absolute aberration and I am looking forward to the next one beginning to set the U.K. back onto sanity and economic stability.

BlueBelle Fri 14-Oct-22 07:47:39

I d vote for minus mouse if it got the Tories out

Juliet27 Fri 14-Oct-22 07:51:06

Some good typos this morning to add to tortes…Lob Dem and minus mouse. ?

BlueBelle Fri 14-Oct-22 07:54:44

??? didn’t see that
Our fingers must be crumbling

Urmstongran Fri 14-Oct-22 07:54:54

I’m surprised the Tories are that high in the polls! ?
Truss seems to have little backbone and the sharks are circling.

volver Fri 14-Oct-22 08:12:55

I don't think it's Truss's lack of backbone we need to worry about.

Her lack of a brain, now...

Katie59 Fri 14-Oct-22 08:13:27

Lib dems are very strong a local level but can’t get momentum at General elections, probably because they don’t have media support or financial support other large parties have.

Kandinsky Fri 14-Oct-22 08:15:14

If Labour don’t win the next election they might as well give up.

Daisymae Fri 14-Oct-22 08:20:57

I can't believe that many people think that they are worthy of voting for

vegansrock Fri 14-Oct-22 08:28:35

At this rate the SNP will be the official opposition

volver Fri 14-Oct-22 08:30:13

?

Casdon Fri 14-Oct-22 08:36:14

Daisymae

I can't believe that many people think that they are worthy of voting for

Me neither, the 19% can’t all be beneficiaries of their economic policy, so there must still be some blind and deaf voters out there somewhere.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 14-Oct-22 08:57:57

Bizarrely if we had PR now the Tories would do better winning more seats than the 4 they would get at 19%.

The Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no-one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity.

We believe that each generation is responsible for the fate of our planet and, by safeguarding the balance of nature and the environment, for the long term continuity of life in all its forms.

We champion the freedom, dignity and well-being of individuals, we acknowledge and respect their right to freedom of conscience and their right to develop their talents to the full.

We aim to disperse power, to foster diversity and to nurture creativity. We believe that the role of the state is to enable all citizens to attain these ideals, to contribute fully to their communities and to take part in the decisions which affect their lives.

Scottish Tories sitting@ 6% .look to lose all six of their seats in a GE ,
Labiur are having what the Scottish media call a surge...that means they might take 3 of those tory seats ,simply because they are the clost thing to tories north of the border

.It would make my day if the wee weasle Ian Murray labours only MP loses his seat.my friend who lives in his constituency says its more than likely ,fingers crossed

Shelagh Fogharty on LBC has just done an excellent interview with LibDem leader Ed Davey who has made a strong case for a new government.

We need a general election.

User7777 Fri 14-Oct-22 16:15:20

19%. As much as that......
