Come on Lib Dems, time to overtake them?

Varian is quite right.

The Lib Dems were unfortunate in having to cancel their Annual Conference last month (for which they got little public sympathy). The policy papers prepared for discussion there were varied and thorough. Ed Davy is a good leader.

The Lib Dems are well placed to win seats where Labour knows it has no chance, even now. No sense in talking them down.

At every general election the LibDems do much better in terms of vote share than the polls predict because people see the candiates and hear about the politics in a way that does nor happen between elections.

varian It reads very well, but what does it mean other than mother love aand apple pie.

My posts are peppered with typos because I have dyspraxia and my fingers will not follow instructions from higher up my system and three fingers on my right hand are numb following an otherwise successful carpal tunnel syndrome operation. I try to proof read and correct, but dyspraxia interferes with that as well.

I'm sorry about that M0nica.

If you read beyond the statement of principles you can find a whole range of policies. The details of the policies do change in response to changing circumstances and are very much determined by the views of members at conference.

Unfortunately our September conference had to be cancelled because the Queen had just died so the next opportunity to help to form policy will be at the spring conference. Perhaps you should attend.

I owe Johnson an apology. He's not the worst Prime Minister in my lifetime!

Casdon I heard some clown on LBC yesterday say that we should give Liz Truss a chance and time to get her policies in place. He, I think is one of the very low percentage who will vote blindly for the Tories.

Are you sure it is as high as 19%? Is she even going to be an MP? I have no idea or really care which constituency she represents.

FannyCornforth Sun 16-Oct-22 08:28:46

Charleygirl I heard someone saying exactly the same thing on Any Answers yesterday.
It must have been the same clown, as I find it difficult to imagine that there are two of them ?

M0nica Sun 16-Oct-22 14:08:00

She has had a chance and time. Her Chancellor announced a mini budget in days and got it so disastrously wrong, almost every measure has since been cancelled. All within six weeks.

How much more time is needed to prove that she is thoroughly incompetent

varian Sun 16-Oct-22 18:08:40

She has never had the support of the majority of Tory MPs but how many of them have even the shred of integrity needed to voted against her policies?

Oh dear. I wouldn’t say that tbh.

Look at all the seats absolutely ripe for the picking in the Tory heartland. A massive push by the Lib Dems will see the Tories off I’m sure.

The LDs would certainly win here - mind you the seat is LD already - but I expect by a much increased margin. Labour come nowhere here - it’s always a toss up between the Tories and the LDs.
