How would you have hung it?

A work by Mondrian has apparently been hung upside down for possibly 75 years.
Personally I would have hung it the same way as the gallery.

How about you. Which way up looks best to you?
If it helps the title is New York City 1.

I wouldn’t hang it at all, it would be straight to the auction room, Sotheby’s at the least- and I’d be en route to the Caribbean on my “winnings”

I went to our local modern art gallery this morning especially to look at the Mondrian that I'm so fond of. Horrors! It was gone. I know they rotate the stock but I did miss my old favourites. However, there were a whole lot of new ones on display. As ever, some spoke to me but others didn't. I loved some of the new ones. Just gut reaction. Can't analyse it.

That’s lovely Aveline. I’m glad you enjoyed your trip out. I’m going to a rather less uplifting place this afternoon; Lidl!

I’m with Maw on this one - I think it would give me a headache …

I was speaking generally, not specifically about Mondrian, whose work I generally like, or any picture in particular, although this one I will happily give a miss.

Too much elitism surrounds high culture and too often the worst criticism that can be made of an artist, is that he sells well, Try discussing Lowrie, or worse still Vettriano, with anyone who rather thinks they are among the art cognoscenti.
