Simple, really. He appears to understand politics better than his opponents. Unfortunately his views seem to have been justified.
Listening to someone (ERG/Tory) talking about Starmer's suggestions for the House of Lords, it was interesting that he thought it would upset the "political" balance. This person did not seem to understand that the House of Commons is a law-making institution and not, directly, a House of Politics.
Trump, and his supporters, do not understand this either. Of course, politics play a part in which laws they will wish to make or not make. But people tire of of shouty, lying PR eventually, then reality strikes. It will happen. Those who are only in it for the illegal fight will, for a while, slip back into the background. Sadly though, they are always there.
