So what caused this incident with two schoolboys to escalate?

Aren't there laws about minors in custody?

I am sure there are. Presumably someone asked a boy in school uniform what his age was!? If not why not\? If they did then why didn't anyone contact the mother. Somehow I think he would have provided the number!!

oh, unless you are white, that's all right.
guess some on here will say, well what did they expect, behaving like that.
they know the police will think that, so they shouldn't draw attention to themselves. ?
or something.

It would be interesting to know what the "drugs paraphernalia" was that was apparently seen in the car!! Or was that the statement no longer valid as made by the dismissed officer maybe?
