Prince Harry has sensationally accused Camilla of plotting to marry Charles, take the Crown and of leaking stories to the press in his bombshell memoir, MailOnline can reveal today.

In an extraordinary passage in his explosive autobiography, titled Spare, the Duke of Sussex writes: 'Shortly after our private meetings with her, she began to develop her long-term strategy, a campaign directed at marriage and with time, the Crown (with the blessing of our father, we supposed).

'News stories started appearing in all the newspapers about her conversations with Willy, stories which recounted lots of small details, none of which came from my brother, of course.'

Her name is Catherine, and apparently it's fine to spill your venom on her, but don't ever criticise Meghan.
The a mixed race mouthy woman who has a mind of her own according to paddyann54 isn't too independent as to not take the title of Duchess, afforded only because she married into a family she despises. She was so concerned her children might not get to be titled too. Now who's the stepford-type wife wanting to be all traditional and privileged?

Caleo Tue 10-Jan-23 16:13:47

The American branch of the Windsors may well renounce their titles. I bet they have considered doing just that. However their titles will help them to get jobs organising charities.

Apparently, Camilla called Meghan 'An Adventuress', which probably annoyed Harry. An Adventure that didn't quite work out. I hope he was worth it; this will be a real test of love.

Totally agree Paddyann! And those that think she's controlling Harry. He's a 37 year old man!

Age does not preclude a controlling relationship, if someone is susceptible to being controlled. IF only there was a magic age at which no one could be controlled!

There is not an age at which a person grows out of being controlled, but it is something someone could learn with support. Learning what a healthy relationship is and how to function in one is learned behaviour, if you haven't grown up that way. People who have grown up with an abuser are more likely to be attracted to one. (I'm saying that in a general way and not definitively about H&M.)

I prefer William's description of Meghan : rude, abrasive and difficult.

eazybee Tue 10-Jan-23 16:44:26

After all, he knows her first-hand.

I don't see Kate was necessarily hanging around.Maybe they were both young when they met and had a break from each other but does that mean they weren't in love and having lots of fun in the meantime? And given the onerous task of Williams role sensible not to rush into marriage.Kate seems to come from a solid loving family and probably has a more realistic idea of the commitment and ups and downs of marriage.

Personally, however much I loved the person, I would run a mile before ‘choosing’ to be queen, and all that that future would entail!

halfpint1 Tue 10-Jan-23 17:14:42

I meant she put on airs and has a reputation for being mean to her entourage, acting as royalty from another era

It would not be the choice of many eligible young women, that was the problem Charles had, Harry also but a poor personality didn’t help. Kate on the other hand was groomed by her mother for the role, it was no co-incidence that they had the same house in university, that was somehow fixed.

As for any affair, it’s all rumor without any evidence, Rose was certainly a friend and when tongues started wagging, Kate put her foot down and they have kept apart.
Maybe we commoners can have friends of the opposite sex but celebrities can’t, the paparazzi can allege whatever they want with impunity, many tabloid readers believe everything to be true

Anniebach Tue 10-Jan-23 17:40:01

Kate’s mother chose the same house in university, did she control every move William made ?

crazyH Tue 10-Jan-23 17:42:56

“Kate on the other hand was groomed by her mother for the role, it was no co-incidence that they had the same house in university, that was somehow fixed” .Agree Katie59
Doria, on the other hand, played no part in bringing Megan and Harry together

OnwardandUpward Tue 10-Jan-23 17:51:28

Wouldn't it more likely be that the palace chose and vetted who was in Williams house at uni?

The thing is - we mustn't believe anything we read in the Daily Mail or Mirror about Meghan and Harry but everything written about Catherine and William's early romance and Catherine's less reputable side of the family is absolutely TRUE!!

😂😂😂

You couldn't make it up - oh, wait a minute ....?

Now, now Callistemon21 you know that every slur against Catherine is spot on. Her mother is such a powerful, influential woman! Not only able to ensure Catherine was in the same house as William, but also able to cast her spell so he fell in love with her.

What a load of tabloid nonsense.

Surely you don't believe that?

I thought one of the problems with being close to the throne is meant to be that the princes find it very difficult to persuade any woman to take on the job. Isn't that why Camilla didn't marry Charles when a young woman, which is why he made the mistake of marrying Diana, only someone as young and infatuated as she was, would consider it.

Same with Harry, several promising relationships ended because no woman wanted the restrictions of being royalty. Only an American woman, who hadn't a clue about what being royal meant, would take it on - and when she did realise she couldn't get the pair of them out of it fast enough.

So the idea that Kate Middleton, could be selected and fulfill all expectations and fall in love with William and marry him at her mother's bidding is ludicrous.

Totally agree Paddyann! And those that think she's controlling Harry. He's a 37 year old man!

Indeed, appears no control ever - who would have allowed excess drinking, drugging, sexing behind pubs - no person in control of Harry's life.

tickingbird Tue 10-Jan-23 20:05:00

I heard on the news earlier that some of Harry’s old mates are chomping at the bit to tell what they know about him. It made me wonder if this is why he’s spoken of his drug use, losing his virginity behind a pub etc? Maybe getting it out there first?

Well, I don't know about you Norah, but a lot of people have indulged in those sorts of things in their youth. I did.

So why did Harry think any of us would be in the slightest bit interested?

I didn't, my parents had rules, and I married at just over 16.

I surely agree - not my children - not my need to know.

I have no interest in any other person revealing details of their sex, drug, drinking life. Nor the frostbite bit, and particularly not the "kills".

Iam64 Tue 10-Jan-23 20:37:14

It’s likely Harry put his use of drugs/alcohol excesses out there because he knew others would do so. He must be aware the tabloids have all kinds of stuff they could use
Same goes for William - well perhaps nit the same but different scandals they have and can use to intimidate
It all makes Happy Valley rather tame

Who cares? Fed up of the lot of them. The French had the right idea in 1789.
