I am sure worth a discussion FannyCornforth. Surely the fact that the political views of a popular singer are considered headline news is worth discussing.

Lots of well off people are touched by individual cases of tragedy or disaster and help people financially. Look at how all George Michael's(?) many such acts of assisatnce became known after his death. Many other people, famous or not, who have the money, are no doubt helping others as well.

So let’s praise those we do know about, whether rich or poor.

Leave it here Fanny there is absolutely nothing wrong with highlighting news items, even if some think they are irrelevant.

It makes a change to read about a good news item instead of the constant bad news drip feed of late.

There is that thing called personal choice, if you are not interested don’t read or post on the thread.
