The King has reportedly evicted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage, their residence in Windsor. Buckingham Palace let the Duke and www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1740755/royal-family-meghan-markle-prince-harry-frogmore-cottage-king-charles of Susses know about the plan to take away the property from them just days after Harry's tell-all memoir, Spare, was published worldwide, it has been claimed.

I thought this was a gift by the Queen to Prince Harry. I thought you cannot take back a gift?

Castles, palaces, lodges, cottages ,
Meanwhile there are thousands in shop doorways, cardboard boxes, sleeping bags with no choice,

And?

That is down to the Government and funding.

We have to have a Head of State of whatever kind. Other Heads of State have to be entertained.
You could say the same about Chequers, Dorneywood, Chevening. Taxpayers paying for MPs' second homes.

Homeless people need a warm shelter, a place they could look after themselves, not pushed into a draughty old castle.

No, it is not a private residence, it did not belong to the Queen.

It is part of the Crown Estate, the Monarch can lease it to whomever.
The lease is nearly up.

Harry and Meghan chose to leave the UK whilst still exploiting their royal titles. The idea that they should keep a residence in the UK after declaring their strong intentions to live permanently in the US is just another stamp of privilege gone mad. Harry has made his bed and he should lie on it. As for paying rent and for some refurbishment, he had Frogmore reburbished for Meghan. She chose to move to the US, that was her decision so there's no question of them having to be reimbursed for something that made their lives better at the time. Andrew has no business being housed where he is, and the decision to ask him to vacate his current property for something more modest, especially as he isn't a working royal, is sensible. More of this thinking is required from our new monarch for him to retain credibility. The London Borough of Newham has 20% of its population sleeping on the streets at night.

Nothing surprises me about Charles the cruel anymore with his ghastly wife behind it all. All this has done is give more proof of what H & M have said.

If anyone really listened and researched properly they would know H & M are telling the truth.

H & M were gifted that property by the Queen as a wedding present. Charles had just removed it. Disgusting.

As far as I'm concerned when the Queen passed the monarchy should have ended.

Wonder if King Charles or Camilla is listening to last Ken Bruce today.

I think the home they live in which is part of the Crown Estate, their 'tied cottage', is modest, Cossy

Anmer Hall is a private residence.

re william and kate.

they currently live in Adelaide cottage windsor which is part of the crown estate!

and yes Anmer hall norfolk is their private residence

Anniebach Fri 03-Mar-23 12:05:06

M & H and truth !

Smileless2012 Fri 03-Mar-23 12:15:28

I'd be impressed if H & M knew what 'the truth' means.

Charles the cruel that's so funny Kelfie and it didn't take much research to expose the lies that H & M have told.

SuzyG Fri 03-Mar-23 12:19:03

Whether Harry and Meghan keep the cottage or not is probably of the least significance to them at the moment, I think.

Since reading ‘Spare’ and watching the videos I feel so sorry that two people could be treated so badly by the press, some of their family, their trusted ‘helpers’ and so many of the public. I admit to some negative feelings toward them in the past but not now. I work on social media and have been appalled at the volume of evil bile I have seen spilled. The Press must take responsibility for fuelling much of the hatred.
I cannot imagine how I would deal with being born into such a situation with basically no escape, whatever you do or wherever you go.
I applaud Harry and Meghan for being brave enough to speak out, although I fear they will never be free of the hatred.

👏🏻👏🏻

Smileless2012 Fri 03-Mar-23 12:35:20

Do you applaud them for the lies they've told SuzyG?

abby0950 Fri 03-Mar-23 12:35:33

Most of the newspapers are reporting this. Why should a house sit empty awaiting their arrival. King Charles has done the right thing. They have earned millions of pounds criticising the royal family. They chose to leave, but it appears they wanted it all their way. There are lots of palaces where they can stay should they visit.

MaggsMcG Fri 03-Mar-23 12:40:50

They haven't been evicted as such . They haven't taken up their lease. Its the same as anyone else that makes the decision to not renew their lease. Officially its an eviction. Not sure if I'm happy that Andrew is moving in but then he will be nearer to enable Charles to keep an eye on his shenanigans. He is and was a very silly selfish man, he should have thought of the effects it has had on his family, both his daughters and the rest of the Royals.

Kathmaggie Fri 03-Mar-23 12:46:20

It just makes perfect sense for them to give up Frogmore - I suspect tho this may make them victims again!

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 03-Mar-23 12:59:26

Just saying - both Charles and Diana wrote books criticising aspects of the Royal Family. Andrew paid a woman millions and swore blind he had never met her! Just saying.

The York girls may be pally with Harry (Eugenie in particular) and I expect they don’t like to see their father in the position he is, but since the Queen’s death, things have definitely changed.

I bet they all need to watch their step around not only Charles, but also Camilla and William. The latters influence will have increased dramatically the last 6 months.

katy1950 Fri 03-Mar-23 13:18:33

I'm sickened by the whole entitled bunch none who have done anything to deserve such a privileged life

Dixieblue Fri 03-Mar-23 13:23:44

And just to rub salt in the wound, he’s giving it to Andrew!

Lindy Fri 03-Mar-23 13:35:35

I agree

Grandmajb Fri 03-Mar-23 13:40:38

Ooh what, something small and something that is a pass on from Kate !!! Meagain won’t like that.

I think I'd be a bit miffed if I'd put a lot of effort and thought into re designing the interior of Frogmore. On the other hand, if I were only going to use it on very rare occasions I'd get the point and would be equally happy checking into the Lanesborough or similar. If it is symbolic of stripping me of everything, then I guess I might feel I deserved it somewhat for criticising The King, Queen and Ps of Wales in public.
The Omid Scobie mouthpiece only drops these nuggets to keep H & M relevant, which they're not.

How can they be miffed about putting effort into redesigning Frogmore? They chose to move abroad and have barely been back since so what is the point of them being able to keep it? there are plenty of places for them to stay with other members of the family if they deign to come over and if they did that it would solve the security issue too as they would be covered by whoevers place they stay at.
I agree H & M are not relevant anymore - the US seems to have gone against them and the sooner the Press just stop bothering to publicise them they will realise they have nothing to keep the money rolling in in the US - Or is that starting to stop anyway?
