This slanging match is unedifying and excludes so many particpants who might have something sensible and useful on the topic the OP brought up for discussion.

It is doing nothing for the reputations of any of the participants.

There is nothing that any of us can say on the topic that the OP brought up that is either sensible or useful. The question posed was inflammatory and biased. None of us can say anything because nothing has been laid bare and comments about wrongdoing are just nasty suppositions that come from an inbuilt antipathy to uppity (Scottish) women.

Others may not think so, but they don’t have to live here with the constant finger pointing, sniggering and now implications that people who support independence are dumb.

This case is under police investigation, and whatever anybody thinks of themselves none of us have the knowledge to comment anything about it. Including me. But I’m not about to sit here and have my government slagged off by people who know nothing about it. Or worse still, those who have made assumptions and think it’s the truth.

As I predicted when you were all condemning Alex Salmond .this will all go away .
There is a very simple reasone for the motorhome...it was even printed in the Daily Record which is by no means a supporter of the SNP.
The auditor who did the books which were passed/cleared by WM has posted that they were all in order.The "loan" was not uncommon and of no significance.
THIS is a deliberate attempt to bring down the SNP and destroy the chance of Independence .
It wont work because the cause has always been roots based ..much bigger than any one person .So you can all stop rubbing your hands in glee.Your own government has done horrendous things with PUBLIC money and nobody is screaming about that ...I wonder why?
As a supporter who does donate to the party I have no issue with the motorhome ,bought as a safe space on the camaign trail during the covid restrictions ...and not used or indeed of any other expenditure used in the pursuit of Independence .ITS our money to spend and was never "ringfenced " for a campaign to my knowledge.Is it normal for donations to political parties to be ringfenced...maybe we should ask Boris ?

No individual in the SNP stole money, it was used in a different way within the party.

As someone who up to now has always voted Conservative insults directed to me on my voting choice and the party I voted for are like water off of a ducks back.

Nearly half of the population of Scotland want to be an independent nation. They want to run their own affairs and not have anything dictated to them from "Down South". We have people like Frost saying its time to roll back devolution and Alister Jack trying to undermine Scotland's international relationships.

I have never denigrated Leavers IQ; I have never said Tories are all millionaires or that they read the DM. I have said I will never forgive them, that they wanted something that doesn't exist and were led up the garden path. All true. You find the post where I denigrate their IQ or intelligence, and I'll own it.

If I had decided to partake in the dirty game, I might now say that it would seem that at least one Leaver has decided to ascribe sentiments to me that the DM (or whatever; the Spectator?) tells them must be true.

Yes, I don't think we should have a referendum just now. For a few years, probably. I thought that in 2014.

We should concentrate on getting Scotland to being obviously a functional nation that can exist independently, so that independence becomes a little step over a burnie, the most obvious thing in the world to happen. There's no point in focusing on the inveterate Unionists for whom the Union is next to nirvana and for whom their fellow compatriots are dumb; their intransigence, we'll just have to live with that.

The rest of us, we'll be moving on.
