Glamour Magazine has a pregnant transman on the cover, for instance. What next?
What next indeed Doodledog I saw a tweet the other day, it pointed out that when a transwoman features on the cover it's for some award, sporting victory, highest paid etc etc, but when it's a transman it's for being pregnant.

(1001 Posts)Professor Kathleen Stock’s talk this evening at the Oxford Union was disrupted by hundreds of trans rights activists. She told the BBC is isn’t hate speech to say males can’t be women.
The talk seems to have been welcomed, with half the audience giving a standing ovation though chanting from trans activists outside could be heard.

So actually, transmen are featured for doing what females do naturally, and transwomen are featured for cheating.
Yes, I can believe that.
Here is the picture from the cover. I couldn't capture the whole thing, but the caption is:
Logan Brown: ‘I’m a pregnant trans man and I do exist. No matter what anyone says, I am literally living proof’
Well yes, Logan Brown exists. Nobody is denying that. But the fact remains that no matter what anyone says, only women can get pregnant and give birth. And Logan Brown is literally living proof of that.

Exactly! If Logan wasn't born female with a uterus, cervix, ovaries and fallopian tubes Logan would not have released a large gamete (the signifier of the female sex in all mammals animal or human) that could be fertilised by a small gamete (the signifier of the male sex in all mammals animal or human) that implanted into the blood rich lining of the uterus to eventually grow into a baby. And don't try to say that sentence in one breath! Whatever cosmetic or drug induced changes Logan makes to Logan's body to replicate another sex, then it's only the presence of innate female organs that have facilitated this pregnancy. Logan could identify as a male dog, Logan would emphatically not be giving birth to a puppy!
Further thoughts. If any man other than a transman went to their GP and said they'd never had a period and they'd been trying to get pregnant for the past year without success, does anyone think the GP would refer the man to specialist fertility clinics to discover any possible causes? I rather doubt it, in fact I'd bet the house on no referral!
I came across this series 'My Pregnant Husband '.
Haven't watched it but enjoyed the long description - here's a snippet.
"The show offers a unique perspective on the human experience, exploring how love and family can exist in all forms and configurations. My Pregnant Husband is a touching and heartwarming series that showcases the trials and joys of creating a new life, with a particular focus on the experiences of those often underrepresented in mainstream media."

Amazingly, these people know which sex their baby is.

What she is actually proving is, she is still a woman.
No matter what.
I would be nice to a person's face and call them a man if they wanted me to.
But I would also say to them that they were born a woman. And also support them as they are not thinking clearly.
It is fear of people that is making others tip toe around.
I have had enough.
We are doing Emperors New Clothes and that is nuts in itself.
We are supposed to be fearing God and not man.
These people need help. Not people agreeing with them, including higher ups encouraging them.
I think (although I haven’t seen the series) that on a personal level the families should be able to get on with life as it suits them. It’s the pretence that the mother is a man that I find annoying. Men do not give birth. I assume that they won’t want to be called mothers either, but birth-givers or similar, which devalues motherhood.
Just proves to the world that she’s a woman who happens to look like a man.I have no problem with that at all but pointless to pretend she is actually a man.
Question tho, why would a man want to be pregnant?
Answer, a man wouldn’t.
What I have difficulty understanding is Logan has had a double mastectomy because the breasts weren't acceptable, and yet retains all the other female sex organs and then fully utilises them. It seems totally at odds with a gendered identity born in the wrong body.

Yes, that struck me, too. I suppose Logan wanted to procreate, as many women do instinctively, and didn't want to remove that option, despite opting out of everything else that goes with being female. It's the same 'logic' used by men who insist that they are women but keep their penises, isn't it?
I wonder how Logan squares being ‘a man’ with having periods?
I wondered if the double mastectomy was so that the outward appearance would be male because of course you can't see what's on the inside, but becoming pregnant is something only a woman can do and as the pregnancy develops, becomes very noticeable indeed.
Oxfam's 'trans guidance' was sprung on staff.

"Maya Forstater, the women’s campaigner, said: “That advice is not legally sound in the UK, let alone in many of the other countries where Oxfam works. These guidelines are like imposing the rules of a religion that not everyone shares."
That's exactly what it's (all) like. With sanctions for heresy.
Maya Forstater is spot on and Oxfam have definitely lost the plot and like other organisations, have blindly followed Stonewalls guidance without giving any thought to what that actually means in practice or the ramifications.
My initial response was, this is another of those things that, just because we can, doesn’t mean we should.
That remains my rss;onse

Isn't it strange that being a man with breasts isn't acceptable but being a woman with stubble, or even a beard, is acceptable.
Mysterious.
Here's a quote I like, tho, which could shed a little light.
"What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.”
the late Christopher Hitchens
FarNorth that picture is amazingly accurate.
It does come in handy quite often Mollygo.
That's a good point Dickens.

Answer, a man wouldn’t.
Quite.
A man wouldn't.
There was a saying, years ago, that if men had to give birth, the population would die out lol
This is just a biological woman, identifying as a man.
Nothing exceptional.
