Hamas has attacked Israel

It’s being reported that Hamas has launched 400 plus rockets into Israel along with its men shooting Israeli civilians in the streets.

Israel has retaliated with extreme force, are we heading for yet another all out war in the Middle East?

I was scrolling X (Twitter) and found the most appalling video posted by Hamas showing a dead Israeli women, stripped naked and being driven around whilst her body is being abused.

I do not think I can ever remove those images from my brain, yet again women being abused/defiled by men as an act of war.

Just thinking about what those people actually did stunned me. How do you make yourself do those things in cold blood. Have they been desensitised by playing violent computer games? Were they hyped up and on some sort of stimulant drug? I don't know. I simply don't understand how one human being could do those things to another human being.

I think the bottom answer is Hamas do not see Jews as human beings.

history has shown that vice-versa!

FP which one of my examples wasnt true. They were both deleted for antisemitism.

Jewish friends from Israel posted about some Israelis shooting ordinary Palestinians in the head at short range today, for no reasons other than they are Palestinians, in full view of the military.

Reported on another site, the reply was 'good, a few less to worry about'.

How totally unpleasant this post has become. It is a terrible situation and the people of Israel and Palestine deserve more respect.

So true, which is why I have been keeping well away. The TED talk is well worth listening to though- so I posted it.

Very little chance that Hamas will kill all Jews- none at all actually. But there is a very big change that the Palestinians of Gaza will be exterminated.

Galaxy Fri 13-Oct-23 17:33:06

Yes and that's appalling.
Are the two examples I gave you ok?

The USA Secretary of State, is backing up the evidence of the atrocities in Israel.

This video (if it works) contains a video of Hamas talking about how they strategized the attack.

He seemed very proud.

"This video isn't available anymore" :-(

I have just found it on the Megan Kelly show.
I take it it is still unedited?
Try searching for her site.

I don't know what I do, as everyone says it's easy, but generally speaking my links don't work! blush

Did you forget that you poster more or less the same post @13.15 today?

All could be avoided if the cowards that are Hamas release all hostages and give themselves up.

Did you not learn about the plight of Jews living in the middle east and Africa, growstuff? These countries managed to eradicate them.

There are only 16 million Jews, worldwide.

*In 1945, 856,000 Jewish people lived in the middle east, north Africa and the Gulf region. Only about 4,500 remain, almost all of them in Morocco and Tunisia. Jewish people have lived continuously in the middle east and north Africa for over 2,600 years, yet in just a few decades they almost totally disappeared. Thousands were expelled or fled their home countries in fear. Around 850,000 were forced out or felt they had to leave following the United Nations decision to partition Palestine in 1947. Age-old communities, with roots dating back millennia, were gone. It was the largest exodus of non-Muslims from the middle east until the movement of Christians from Iraq after 2003.*

Yes, of course I have. Hamas do not have the resources of the other countries which have displaced Jews. Not only that, but Jews were living in sovereign states with non-Jewish majorities. Israel is now an established country and eradicating Jews from the former Palestine region would involve obliterating a country, which has the support of the richest country on earth.

I can't really see them doing that, unless they receive something huge in return. I think they would know what they'd get if they gave themselves up, so they don't have anything to lose. I agree with others that they don't give two hoots about the citizens of Gaza.

Just finding the world wide pile- on of hate fueled demonstrations utterly depressing, particularly when so many of those on the streets in full rage mode, live under utterly horrible repressive regimes, abusers of human rights, who need to put their own houses in order sad Maybe it just takes their focus of all of that, that's if they aren't some of the usual rent a crowd that are wheeled out for such occasions hmm

GrannyGravy13 Fri 13-Oct-23 17:58:14

Yes they are a dreadful hate fest TerriBull

Totally wrongly - there was nothing antisemitic about them. I could not believe they were deleted.

Ok. Well I trust MN judgement over yours I am afraid.

How does attacking Jewish schools and businesses in London help the people in Gaza?

Callistemon21 Fri 13-Oct-23 18:04:29

I don't believe reports which state friends of friends on Facebook said that, I'm sorry.
Anyone can make up stories on FB which seem to corroborate their viewpoint.

I would need more evidence than that.

Jews in the UK were worried when it looked as if Corbyn might be voted in. Now they are worried about living here again. I'm appalled that my country is turning into a frightening place for them and that children are being told not to wear their identifying school uniforms. Totally shocking!

Namsnanny Fri 13-Oct-23 18:35:18

Why do you think it has come about here Sparklefizz?

Allsorts Fri 13-Oct-23 19:00:47

Ordinary civilians didn’t want this, it’s so barbaric and sad.

I so agree, this concerns me, (although not wishing to enter discussions about the tragic events in the Middle East).
If London children are being targeted in their schools, then it is truly shocking.
Or is everyone over reacting, and by that I include the decisions of Jewish schools to turn their pupils into victims without reason by closing their schools?
We need to know more how it is affecting those in our own communities, and how it is being policed.

“Gaza is out of control because in 2005 the Israelis pulled out altogether — sometimes dragging Jewish settlers out by the hair. The place was left to the Palestinians.

What happened? Did they seize their moment, and govern sensibly, taking advantage of the billions in aid the US and the EU were ready to disgorge?

On the contrary — the Gaza Strip became a launching pad for rocket attacks on Israel; an appalling advertisement for what two states could mean.

It is true that in the past few decades the expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank has made a negotiated settlement more difficult; but it could have been done.”
