Was the ‘difficulty’ that some of the girls refused to take advice or change their behaviour patterns? Should they have been imprisoned for their own safety, in an imperfect world where bad men do exist? It’s easy to take an over-idealistic attitude to these cases. But does it help to close down the discussion by crying ‘Victim Blaming!’?
I don't think it is an "idealistic world" to expect the police to investigate properly without fear of being called racist or to protect children no matter what their behaviour patterns. If those bad man aren't there, they can't keep raping children. Woman and children should not be blamed for what men do to them even if they do drink too much alcohol, take drugs or dress 'provocatively'.
