No surprise there.

It has been obvious for months

I don’t need to do any research at all to know what Hamas did on 07/10. If it’s so well hidden that I need to do research, then it’s pretty well hidden and not a big deal. I’ve got better things to do than sit all day researching Jewish people in Israel who I’ve never heard of. I know what my Jewish friend thinks, she thinks that the hostages need to be released and I don’t need to do any research to know that. If posters want to spend their days researching in order to find obscure Jews who they can blame, well it’s a free country (unlike Gaza where you support Hamas or you’re dead) but I’m not wasting my time desperately trying to find something I can whack the Jews with.

I don't know that anyone has said the hostages should not be released.
On the other hand it has been alleged that no one wants the Palestinians because they are terrorists, with absolutely no evidence presented. Israel has always painted the Palestinians as unreliable Arabs.
The reality is that Israel is not only unreliable but absolutely duplicitous.
As for them being expelled from the UN, Good luck on getting that passed with the US supporting them,

“The people of Palestine have a right to have their own state and some of that land is land Israel currently occupies.”

They are no different to many ethnic groups that are ruled by others, those with the most power prevail, if you are saying that Palestinians should continue attacking Israel because they have rights then bloodshed will continue.

The scenes from Rafah are beyond imagination.

Israel was warned not to inflict such horror on innocent lives, but they went ahead anyway and have committed yet another nightmare of atrocities.

Hamas launched a barrage of rockets into Israel, Israel responded, Palestinians died.

It’s Hamas that caused the deaths.

True Katie but as usual Israel is condemned

Vintagewhine Tue 28-May-24 08:06:45

Israel has the right to defend itself but it's required to stay within international law and it's not, that is why it's being condemned. Israel has said it made another mistake and didn't intend to burn those innocent civilians, they've also said they didn't mean to blow up another foreign aid worker last week. Every time they kill civilians, aid workers, reporters, doctors, tented camps that are designated as places of safety, they say it's an accident, a tragic mishap to quote Netanyahu. At least he's not blaming Hamas.

Anniebach Tue 28-May-24 08:08:52

Hamas caused those deaths ,

So you wholeheartedly support Hamas, they are the good guys.

Hamas caused those deaths ,

Why not tell Netanyahu to stop apologizing for the mistakes his soldiers keep making. I'm sure it'll soothe his conscience ( if he has one). I doubt it would cut much ice with anyone else though. Just to make it clear, I am not a supporter of Hamas or any other terrorist group because I believe we should all be subject to the law and behave in a humanitarian way towards others. Hamas doesn't and neither does the Israeli government, being clear here I am critising the government not People who are Jewish.

Anniebach Tue 28-May-24 08:31:07

The Israeli government are not Jewish?

LottieLouise Tue 28-May-24 08:37:39

What about Putin's war crimes or doesn't he figure into this.

Anniebach Tue 28-May-24 08:44:13

Seems international law doesn’t cover Russia

maddyone Tue 28-May-24 09:04:39

International law does cover Russia, but for some reason unknown to me, when Russia breaks international law, many people don’t get upset about it. They pass it by, it’s not important.
It’s only important when Israel makes a mistake. Netanyahu has said the fires were a tragic mistake. However, Israel have been warning the civilians to leave Rafah for weeks. They have been told to leave because the Israelis will be moving in to try to find the hostages, who they believe are in Rafah, and to root out the remaining Hamas fighters who are holed up in Rafah.

This is war. Do you think there were no casualties during the push into Germany? D Day was 6th June 1944. Germany capitulated on 8th May 1945. How many innocents died during that year? That’s what happens in war. No one can fight a war without very sad civilian deaths. It is sad, it’s more than sad, especially when it’s children suffering. It’s heartbreaking, but so was 07/10. And so are around 100 hostages, many of them young women. Did you see the video of those terrified girls, being threatened with rape by Hamas fighters? Maybe that doesn’t bother everyone, I don’t know. Can you imagine the terror those girls live in every day? Or don’t you want to? It’s terrible for the civilian population to be living in a state of war, but Israel will finish the job. There must always be blame when there’s war, and the blame falls on the shoulders of the aggressors. Hamas are the aggressors and continue to be the aggressors by holding on to the hostages and continuing to fight back and firing rockets into Israel. The solution is in the hands of Hamas.

Anniebach Tue 28-May-24 09:12:05

True Mandy

I watched that video , horrific, Hamas terrorists went into detail
of the rapes they were carrying out, the young girls were
terrified. Bad Israel trying to get those young girls home.

The deaths yesterday were by Hamas

Granniesunite Tue 28-May-24 09:12:37

I stopped watching the news as I just couldn’t watch or listen any longer to those whose hatred of each is is so great that the killing of thousands of people is considered to be the right thing to do.When this war is over… whenever that is…I hope that the full extent of the killings are exposed and the ones responsible are punished.

It’s inhuman to keep blaming the other side as the innocent people caught up in this are being massacred daily.

We humans and should be ashamed of ourselves and instead of taking a side should be shouting out for the killings to stop.

We can’t condemn a race of people because of the family they are born into. That was Gods choice if you believe in God!

All this war has done is to make sure that the next generation of young will never forget how their parents grandparents brothers and sister familywere treated. On both sides before anyone thinks I’m on the one side!

Revenge and vengeance…Rules.

Russia should be another thread. That’s a look over there remark.

Anniebach Tue 28-May-24 09:18:25

The next generation will remember as Jews remember the Holocaust?

Granniesunite Tue 28-May-24 09:25:50

I’m quite clear annie when I say the next generation. I take no sides as I think that would just make meas ignorant as the war mongers in this disgusting war.

maddyone Tue 28-May-24 09:35:25

There have been some threads on the Ukrainian war, but it does appear that people are less interested in that war than the situation in Gaza.
And to accuse people of being inhuman is a horrible accusation. People are upset about this war, and the Ukrainian war, and are allowed to state their opinion without being called inhuman. The war mongers are Hamas, not Gransnetters!

Anniebach Tue 28-May-24 09:41:53

The war mongers are Hamas not Israel, how can Israel be condemned for trying to release the hostages

Granniesunite Tue 28-May-24 09:42:36

Killing another human being is killing no matter where in the world it makes no difference to me ..

If you lose your mum dad brother sister granny grandad you’ll still be grieving.

My view is that to justified killing is inhuman. My view.

Granniesunite Tue 28-May-24 09:43:55

Annie the war mongers are all who have a stake in this war. The innocents are the ones who have no say.

Anniebach Tue 28-May-24 09:45:41

Israel had no say in 7th October 2023

maddyone Tue 28-May-24 09:47:59

So Granniesunite, what should be done about the hostages?

Granniesunite Tue 28-May-24 09:57:46

Those poor people should never have been taken in the first place and I’d think reading my posts it would be clear that I hate killing so using another human being to justify the ends so most certainly inhuman.

I pray for them and their families every day as I pray for peace in the world.
