Hmm.
Standing as a Reform MP after all?
Emigrating to America to canvass for Trump?
Joining the Tory party?
None of the above?

I shall tune in out of curiosity.

If it splits the Tory vote Hoorah! I think the whole of Essex is currently Tory.

There have been a lot of boundary changes made for this election, so check your constituency.

Where I live the part that is represented by Labour councillors has been shifted into the next constituency and a chunk of big houses added.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 03-Jun-24 17:43:44

I wouldn’t get too excited.

I reckon that if he does get a seat, he will almost immediately do a deal with the Tory party and then he will be up for leadership.

Then you are back to supporting a party that you have rejected, and goodness knows what will happen to the Tory party then.

DiamondLily Mon 03-Jun-24 17:44:55

He’s tried 7/8 times to get a seat in various areas, And failed every time.

Candidate for Clacton.

I hope they have dolphins.

No Dolphins, but Jaywick is part of the constituency. Lots of rather colourful characters there, if you are brave enough to take a trip…

What a snob. Bet there's some colourful characters living near you too.

My parents met there just after the second world war.

I suggest you Google Jaywick, along with the documentary made about its inhabitants, before you through your insults around.

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 03-Jun-24 17:49:04

It’s a ghastly place with ghastly inhabitants.

Farage is right: we need a rebellion against the self righteous, smug establishment. He said Labour are going to win. Of course they are. But we need an opposition to hold their feet to the fire!

I completely agree

That has decided me, I will be voting reform. We need change and we need a charismatic leader who will stand up for Great Britain

DiamondLily Mon 03-Jun-24 17:56:10

Farage is smug and self righteous in his own right. 🤷‍♀️

Can you explain to me which of their policies have led to your decision?

Grantanow Mon 03-Jun-24 17:59:07

Clacton is depressing enough as it is with Farage being foisted on it.

Grantanow Mon 03-Jun-24 17:59:26

For with read without!

Look at his past, he told the EU that he was going to get Britain out. They laughed at him. “Well you’re not laughing now” There is no doubt that it was Farage wot did it. He has great influence, and many voters like him.

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 03-Jun-24 18:05:57

Vote for Reform, vote for Labour.

It’s a ghastly place with ghastly inhabitants.

It’s a deprived seaside town with a lot of poverty and interesting history.

Not everyone who comes from there is “ghastly” ditto Clacton.

I live near Southend, the Kursaal Borough is also a very deprived borough, like Jaywick, high unemployment, high drug use, but not everyone there is ghastly.

Jaywick has a Martello Tower, which is quite interesting. Personally, I wouldn’t choose to live there.

He has absolutely no influence beyond his imagination and people too lazy or dim to think for themselves and properly research.

I assume you mean that the LP did not do enough. How can they either change the minds of the extreme right front bench or influence them when the current govt has such a large majority?

That won’t be Reform though.

All to play for Casdon! Look how well Reform have done on FB - apparently. I don’t use it but it has been reported so. There is a momentum gathering now that wants a good shake up of the Westminster bubble, SPADs, media luvvies.

Vote Reform.

Whats are their policies please?

Where do they stand on education, health, austerity ,climate change and so on please?

Okay Cossy let’s try to keep it clean eh? No need to fling personal insults around that just debases your argument.

I don’t consider myself ‘dim’.
Mind you ‘lazy’. …. Guilty as charged.
#lazygran indeed!

Why not call the party The BNP and have done. Horrid little man. Richard Tice is standing in my area (Boston & Skegness) and there's a lot of support for him on FB. Not from me! Connections to the KKK, I mean, you couldn't make this up!

Perhaps you've been led by donkeys 🤔 just saying. KKK don't be ridiculous 😂

Its nothing to do with left leaning , the man is a racist and a rabble rowser.

Why is he racist because he wants to stop the boats well so does Starmer and the EU.

Dinahmo Mon 03-Jun-24 18:14:27

Interesting that all the Essex MPs are Tory and yet the south east was one of the smaller recipients of levelling up funds.

maddyone Mon 03-Jun-24 18:15:33

Haha, I shall enjoy this. It’ll set the cat among the pigeons on Gransnet for sure. Tune in for some entertainment and fun grin
