This debate has run its course. Nobody is going to change their view by the look of it. Once we reach the deleting stage, the thread has had its day. Everyone has to accept that other people have different views.

I agree Maddyone. It is sad though that however politely you lay out your case there are those on here who choose to use foul language or resort to name calling because they know there is nothing more they can say to improve their argument.

They really do not accept that other people have different views as you say so they resort to foul language and calling you names. Please note that those of us who disagree do not stoop to their level and do likewise. 🙂

I didn't like that post, but that was because I think it was unnecessary to reprimand posters about their language, I always have thought that, whoever does it. But there was nothing in your post, IMO, that violated the Gnet guidelines (which I checked earlier this morning).

French police stand by and watch the boats leave for Britain. Now you are in charge Yvette Cooper what's your plan after you cancelled the Rwanda deterrent?

We've seen TV coverage of the French police watching boats leaving.
I'm not sure how they can stand and let them go, knowing they are hopelessly overcrowded, maybe with small children on board and about to cross a body of water which is busy with large ships, dangerous and rough st times with rips and tides.

Meanwhile, 1,000 more migrants have arrived on our shores since Labour came to power.

Whether legal or illegal, I did not ask to have my country overwhelmed with people from all over the world. Immigration needs to be tackled in every way possible because no country can survive the level of change we are experiencing.

Yvette Cooper can't control the actions of the French police.

I just don't know how they can stand and watch, especially the children. They must be hardened.

I tried to find information on what French police are doing and found this interesting article from the French POV.

They do puncture some small boats but give useful situation on the French coast

If they let them go, those people are deleted from France.
Getting them deleted means they don’t have to admit any wrong doing. Works in lots of situations.

I agree they never put in their Manifesto did they that they were going to increase legal immigration. Anyway Yvette Cooper doesn't want you to know how many new arrivals have come to our country curtesy of the smuggling gangs I don't think they are reporting the numbers now. They must have seen this thread and stopped it 🤔

All is not lost apparently no new arrivals yesterday. Figures just late.

What we need biglouis and what we've ended up with are poles apart unfortunately. People have had enough, politicians are voted in saying they will do this and that and it rarely happens. That's why people are turning to Nigel Farage here and Trump in America because no one else is listening to their concerns.

We all have differences of opinion about the people arriving here in small boats and governments not getting to grips with this problem and as maddyone writes, nothing anyone can say will change minds.
