Trump shot at rally - just caught his ear.

It seems the shooter was just a nutjob ,an outsider who likely had serious mental problems.

On our news it said he was a loner with no friends and mental health issues.
That is not the same as your first post, which is intemperate language.

Thanks eazybee. Language is so important. Aggressive, demeaning , intemperate language encourages high expressed emotion. That’s the last thing needed in situations where calm is needed.

I just hope the 20 year old who was shot by the FBI or whoever actually was the shooter - to me this resembles the assissination of President Kennedy rather too much, killing the supposed marksman before establishing that he actually was the shooter!

Without bothering to look it up, I seem to remember that at least three American presidents have been shot dead, and that other prominent figures have been shot at before now!

Unfortunately I’m sure Trump will turn this incident to his advantage, saying that God wants him to survive and be president and a lot of Americans will agree with him.

Someone has just sent me footage filmed with a phone at the rally and people are trying to alert the officers that the man with the rifle was on the roof. It’s quite clear. He was crawling on the roof with a rifle. People were shouting “quickly there’s a man on the roof with a rifle”. It is starting to look at best a serious security lapse, at worst something far more sinister.

He got a taste of his own medicine, as he was the one inciting people to go into the government. Why anyone would want such a person as president is beyond belief

For what it’s worth I think that this shooting happened because the young man was in some way mentally unstable. Nothing to do with this party or that party, much more to do with the failure in his life and his personality. Watch this space, it’ll be announced soon that he had few or no friends, never had a girlfriend, was a loner, had a dysfunctional family life. Probably no job. Possibly mental health issues sick as bipolar or autism.
And crucially, his father bought the gun apparently, and obviously he had access to it.

On the contrary, Maddyone. I heard someone on tv this morning who knew the gunman at school. She said he was friendly, kind, generous and nice to know. She said she would never have believed he could do something like this.
It’s terrifying to think that someone you consider to be ‘normal’ could suddenly turn into a killer.
I thoroughly dislike Trump, but he did not deserve to have this happen to him. If people wish such bad things on people, even if they dislike them and all they stand for, they are no better than the killer.

Whilst I believe that the best way to show your views is by voting and not shooting - is this a symptom of the gun culture which Trump wants to keep?
