Have you seen the rules for comment on the Olympics? Not allowed to say that an athlete is transgender or post surgically transgender. We all have to collude with the delusion that feeling like a woman makes you genuinely female.
Walk away from these competitions ladies. Shouldn't take too long before the message sinks in. Dreadful that has to be done though.

As mentioned up thread, this only goes one way, was it ever thus. In other areas too, transmen they are pretty much under the radar most of the time I really don't see or hear of them imposing themselves in the same way. There is a word that springs to mind in relation to much of this new phenomenon and the pernicious erosion of women's rights and that would be "entitlement" or to be more specific "male entitlement". Whilst not wishing to birsmich men per se, the male desire to trounce women and to remain dominant has stalked and subjugated women since the beginning of time. Why are we putting up with this retrograde dominance? Just same meat different gravy under another guise.

I have absolutely no problem with trans people who want to ID as another gender but it's getting ridiculous!

To me, it's another way men have found to control women, what sports we do, what we wear etc.

Most men disagree with transwomen in sport business. It's reassuring to hear so many of them are with us. Of course they're not typically prominent 'celebs' just decent honest men. We mustn't forget them.

I saw this reported yesterday. I think it’s disgraceful.

Trans athletes should be allowed to take part in women's sports, Labour's new Culture Secretary has said. Lisa Nandy said it should be up to individual sports to decide whether to let biological males compete against women in their respective fields, arguing “most” sports had got the balance right.
Presumably what she means by got the balance right is that if males want to compete in female competitions they should be allowed to do so.

Indeed she is, and has been doing so for some time. Daley Thompson is one of the rare male athletes who publicly supports her in this. Of course she knows first hand what it is like to be cheated out of your rightful medal, not by a man who 'identifies' as a woman, but by someone's enhanced performance due to drug use.

Absolutely Aveline, I've yet to encounter a man who thinks a male bodied people should enter women sports or personal spaces, I thank God the men in my life, husband and sons are strongly opposed, one son has spoken to me about the insanity of a male bodied person being involved in women's contact sports in particular.

Sharron Davies is a champion she like all the other women who are fighting the good fight for women and girls are forever on the receiving end of vile threats and aggression not only a personal level but to family members. Do those who defend trans women in their perceived right to trounce ordinary women ever criticise the aggressive trans women lobby who threaten those who oppose their stance?

It is, and always has been, IMO. The number of people with gender dysphoria is estimated to be tiny, yet within a few years the number of males claiming to 'feel' that they are female has risen exponentially. Can anyone explain that, other than to acknowledge that there is a lot more to this than 'feelings'?

Until recently (in civilisation terms) the world was run around men. There were few Ladies loos, women weren't allowed in many pubs, they could be intimately searched when arrested (supposedly on suspicion of being a prostitute with an STI, but actually to keep us indoors at night), male and female wages were different, rape in marriage was legal, women needed guarantors to borrow money etc etc. there was definitely a 'place' for us to stay in.

Now that has changed, the patriarchy doesn't like it, and there are those who see women as having 'gone too far' in our claims for equality. They can't reverse the legislation without showing their hand, and doing so would be opposed by women and (I assume) most men. So instead they muscle in on things that women have achieved, and claim to be doing so in the name of 'trans equality', shutting down opposition because 'they are oppressed'.

How long before a team of failed male footballers starts to play against the Lionesses?

I'm amazed that they are allowed to compete in women's events. It should be stopped immediately.

It's the latest way of cheating because you can't win otherwise. You wonder where their self-respect – if they ever had any – has gone.

My personal opinion is that their perception of some things must have become very skewed.
So they can justify it to themselves in some way.

To beat the Lionesses they likely wouldn't even need adult men. The USA women's team who were World Cup and Olympic gold medal holders were beaten in a friendly match by FC Dallas U-15 boys academy team and lost the match 5-2.

Because they will, as things stand at the moment, be sanctioned by the sporting authorities. In the USA sporting scholarships are a way for some students to get a college education. If they refuse to compete they wreck their chance of a scholarship. Many already lose scholarships to trans identified males as it is.
At the Olympics can you really ask women who have trained for years to sacrifice their chance because a male is lining up with them?
