I know there's a thread in Sport about the games but think this deserves it's own thread.

Algerian TW boxer Imane Khelif landed a huge right hand on the Italian female competitor, forcing her to quit after just 46 seconds into the bout.

Imane Khelif does look rather smug in the post "match" photographs.

Not just winning a boxing match (if you can call it a win, it is not in fact), but winning the war for men who are trying to invade women's sports and spaces too.

I would like to point out that nowhere has this competitor identified as transgender and she was born a female and is female in her passport . These are the facts .

A female with XY chromosomes?
An oxymoron, as SueDonim says.

Is that a new gender now?

Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting have been tested by the IBA.

Both were found to have XY chromosomes, which indicate a male.

They may have been assigned female at birth, have female on their passports, but as far as I am aware and biologists agree, chromosomes cannot be changed…

The female in the passport means absolutely nothing! India Willoughby, a transwoman ie a male, has the F marker in his passport too. You can change the sex marker on your passport on request, nothing else needed. I could become M tomorrow should I wish.

I think it's been established the boxer doesn't identify as transgender, but has failed DNA testing. DNA doesn't lie.

The second male boxer competing in the women’s boxing has won his match.

Ambiguous genitalia at birth could lead to the wrong sex being assigned.
The parents would therefore bring the child up as the sex assigned at birth even if that is wrong.

It's no good looking at pictures of the small child and judging by that. Even many boys who are not wrongly assigned at birth can still be very pretty as a small child but changes show at puberty when testerone levels rise.

Imane has male levels of testerone as well as male chromosomes and was rightly banned by the IBA.

I'm amazed that some think that it is fine for this person to be in the ring with a woman.

The fact that neither Khelif or Yu-ting appealed the IBA decision or the DNA test results says it all.

I said the same thing up thread, but I've since read Khelif did initially appeal then retracted. Yu-ting never appealed. If you know what the result of an appeal will confirm it makes sense.

From your quote:

iocmedia made male violence into an Olympic Sport

I would say the IOC has legitimised violence and the abuse of women by men.

She (SHE) is a biological woman who was tested and showed high levels of testosterone, which can occur naturally. The Olympic Committee cleared both her and another female boxer to compete.

There’s a massive dispute about the DNA results and it’s been proven this boxer was born a biological female, grew up as female and is biologically female.

It’s a shame that if the athletes in contention with a transgender couldn’t take a stand and refuse. It’s really so unjust and wrong of the Olympic committee to have allowed this travesty.

Those two are not transgender!

I’ve read both the articles I’ve posted all the way through to the end, have you?

Galaxy Fri 02-Aug-24 18:32:57

The IBO has released a statement saying it wasnt to do with testosterone levels.
If women have been subjected to years of people saying men can be women then it's no surprise that they are suspicious of organisations.
People have lied consistently about who is a woman, why on earth would anyone believe claims about sex now.

Galaxy Fri 02-Aug-24 18:33:54

I dont know what you mean about posted all the way through to the end.
