Have to say this sounds like a non news story but it seems some are getting hot under the collar about it. Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with a young woman like Angela enjoying a holiday in Ibiza and dancing in a nightclub. She wasn't doing anything wrong.
I like the fact that Angela is from a working class background in the North, the same as me, it makes her far more in touch with those who feel that politicians recently are on another planet. She also has fire in her belly and God forbid a love of life. Reminds me of a young Barbara Castle.
Keep on dancing Ang, but keep your smartest moves for those opposite you in the HoC.

I don't vote Labour or Tory but nor do I frequent art galleries and other such things except under duress. I much prefer dancing, even at 72, and I prefer gin - which we used to call "Mothers' Ruin" for obvious reasons.

I'm a northern girl and working class (whatever definition that is these days) and I admire her for what she has achieved so far in life.

Don't also forget that she's just fought a general election and that takes a lot of energy, time and stress, so she deserves a holiday where she can let her hair down. Leave the woman alone - the remarks aren't even worth making.

Well said!

Casdon well let’s just say that I won’t be having any drinks with AR…. She seems proud of her ability to get her guests to end up sleeping in the dog’s basket.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 01-Sept-24 20:54:55

ronib if I could drink an entire bottle of vodka in one go I imagine I would be dead by the following morning.

I do like a glass of wine or an occasional vodka and tonic, but always responsibly.

Why not tell us where exactly the information you quoted came from though ronib, or say that neat vodka and twerking were your own words?

ronib Sun 01-Sept-24 21:03:14

Casdon twerking and neat vodka are not in my vocabulary …. In fact I don’t even know how to twerk. Do google.

Casdon Sun 01-Sept-24 21:20:34

All I’d like is for you to tell me what your source was ronib, I’m not asking you to twerk!

ronib Sun 01-Sept-24 21:31:31

Casdon general internet mostly from The Independent…. But it now seems the club AR visited is a known drugs den - so I think best leave it there.

MissAdventure Sun 01-Sept-24 21:33:31

I expect she fits the drugs in with her porn film lifestyle, and fraudulently buying her council house.
Busy lady!

MissAdventure Sun 01-Sept-24 21:35:26

I can't see anything at all on the Internet, apart from that she stood behind the dj and played a song.
Repeated ad nauseum across the reports.

Either I’m not making myself clear or you’re misunderstanding what I’m asking ronib. Given that it categorically does not say in the Independent that she drank neat vodka or twerked, which specific website or publication did you pick that information up from? I’m trying to establish whether you are quoting from a reliable website - if you don’t have a source, what you’re doing is repeating gossip.

Iam64 Sun 01-Sept-24 21:42:00

Now then MissAdventure, don’t be going all ironic about this truly shocking behaviour from Angela. Remember, nothing she ever does is within a Mile of being acceptable. She’s no better than she ought to be, twerking and drinking neat vodka. And in a club on an island with a rep for drugs - as ronib concluded - say no more
😆🌞

grin

Not forgetting that AR likes to get her visitors so drunk that they sleep in the dog’s basket Iam64 and what is pink coke?

MissAdventure Sun 01-Sept-24 21:48:26

I've only ever seen the white variety... sniff!

MissAdventure Sun 01-Sept-24 21:49:09

Did she take her dog on holiday, then?

Be careful is all I'd say... Some of my younger colleagues had a "twerking" competition at our Christmas party one year.
One of them had had an unexpected baby before the next party.
She blamed the twerking. Just saying... 🤨

Iam64 Sun 01-Sept-24 22:09:54

Where do you get your gossip ronib? I’ve no idea about dog baskets (didn’t know Angela had a dog) and I’ve no idea what pink coke is

ronib Sun 01-Sept-24 22:16:21

Yes I must say it’s entirely the wrong sort of information stream to follow when googling Angela Rayner. It’s really not helping my blood pressure Iam64

MissAdventure Sun 01-Sept-24 22:29:46

I shouldn't imagine it is, particularly as nobody else can find it.

As are most clubs in Ibiza, I believe. According to my lovely hairdresser. I am more of a glass of chilled rosè in the garden myself

Mt61 Sun 01-Sept-24 23:37:11

Casdon

Which reliable witness reported that she was drinking neat vodka and twerking ronib? Do you think that could just be the vivid imagination of a tabloid journalist?

Gods job she wasn’t down the Notting Hill carnival twirking- press would have had a field day

ronib Mon 02-Sept-24 08:08:58

Vogue just love Angela.

notoveryet Mon 02-Sept-24 08:41:33

Neither twerking or drinking vodka are illegal or immoral as far as I know. She was on holiday and enjoying herself as we all do in our own way. If it's true that someone ended up sleeping in a dog bed ( they'd soon be squashed by my boy if they tried it) I doubt she force fed them with alcohol so that was up to them

AGAA4 Mon 02-Sept-24 08:41:40

Babs I am with you on thinking that AR on holiday and dancing is nothing to write home about.
I have seen much sillier threads on GN like the green trousers thread.
What Angela does on holiday is nobody else's business.
