“We are killing like we haven’t killed since 1967”
Are you irritating in RL? (light hearted)
Recalled for a further appointment after a routine mammogram
Have to say this sounds like a non news story but it seems some are getting hot under the collar about it. Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with a young woman like Angela enjoying a holiday in Ibiza and dancing in a nightclub. She wasn't doing anything wrong.
I like the fact that Angela is from a working class background in the North, the same as me, it makes her far more in touch with those who feel that politicians recently are on another planet. She also has fire in her belly and God forbid a love of life. Reminds me of a young Barbara Castle.
Keep on dancing Ang, but keep your smartest moves for those opposite you in the HoC.
There's more than one route to the top.
And equally to the bottom.
Oh no, that's pessimistic 😯

Well as a working class woman I am disappointed in AR. She should be drinking pints of Fosters and flossing in Rhyl. The woman doesn’t know her place
😂😂 I’ve just watched the video, what a fuss about nothing!
Ibiza is quite upmarket now isn’t it? I know we looked at renting a villa there and it was extortionate
Good on this glamourous granny is what I say!
I’m not a fan of Angela Rayner but I feel that she and others in public life are entitled to privacy in their leisure time. I couldn’t care less what she does when on holiday, only what she does or says when she’s at work. She hasn’t done anything wrong. The press in this country is shoddy and irrelevant.

Absolutely! Being an MP is a job, it is a tough job, there are certain professional standards MP should be met, but holiday choices and dancing are not two of them!
MissAdventure
We must have a few Buckets on here.
More than a few 🪣🪣
Good on Angela a real woman with courage amongst all the misogyny and snobbery of politics (and a few on here)
I hope she had a great holiday and enjoyed a drink and a boogy
Cossy happy to be a bucket. I wonder how hung over AR is today and how prepared she is for the working week ahead?
Also I don’t buy into the AR lifestyle - son and daughter in law are definitely not doing very useful jobs in my book.
Yes happy in my bucket.
You seem to be more than a little interested in our Ange.
Moreso than anyone else, in fact.
I definitely don't like her or her politics, but she's entitled to enjoy herself.
Can’t you give it a rest Ronib its getting ultra boring we do get it that you don’t like her
I googled her don. He works as an assistant manager in a nightclub?
Angela Rayner makes a feature of her poor upbringing. Snobbery is cited; there is certainly plenty of inverted snobbery on this thread.
The assumption that:
There is some snobbery about northerners from some. If they haven't lost their accent then they are looked down upon.........
..... resentment from some that she has "overstepped" boundaries and not stayed in "her place", as they see it....it unsettles them.
Nonsense.
My parents came from Manchester, left school at 14 and had accents all their lives. Never held them or their families back.
What horrifies 'some people', is Angela Rayner's ignorance, lack of education, and the fact that she has no intention of remedying it.
There is no comparison other than hair colour between her and the well-educated, intelligent and ferociously hard working Barbara Castle; she is nothing like 'Red Ellen' (MP for Jarrow) who also came from a very impoverished background but fought tirelessly to improve her education, ending her career as Minister for Education 1945. John Prescott had few educational qualifications but studied at Ruskin College and Hull University; John McDonnell studied A levels at night school then for a degree from Brunel University. There are many more.
Rayner has gained her prominence in Parliament purely due to the influence of the Unions, not by her abilities and at present Starmer cannot upset them.
Exactly.
Angela is like herself, and that'll do nicely, thanks.

What?? What do they have to do with AR? They are adults in their own right!
I don’t even know anything about them!
MissAdventure was it a BAD start or just a difficult one? My late mum used to say it was silly trusting girls who got pregnant. to young men who used the “if you love me you will”plea. Bad girls in mums opinion knew how to avoid pregnancies even during the war when she knew a few girls who slept around with visiting forces personnel
I agree with your mum, paddyann,
I was referring more to Angela's upbringing, and the difficulties her mum had.
eazybee I’m from a poor background and have three degrees, all achieved well into adulthood.
I’m not one iota more intelligent, competent, capable or ‘cultured’ than I was before I took them. I did lose my accent along the way (which I deeply regret now) and the new one impresses a lot of foo…folk.
^I wonder how hung over AR is today and how prepared she is for the working week ahead?’
Be a bloody bad hangover to lasted since last Wednesday or Thursday.
(The video was originally posted at 4am on Thursday, but there’s nothing to say it was live)

Do you think that those of us with degrees and higher educational qualifications are more capable of doing a good job than others who don’t eazybee?
I’m well educated academically myself, but I still really don’t believe that means I would be a better politician, I think a government which has people from a wide variety of backgrounds, with different experiences and qualifications, is best placed to serve the different needs of the electorate. Angela Rayner has different experiences and qualifications, not none. For example, from the BSL website:
‘Did you know that new Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner learnt British Sign Language (BSL) while studying at college? She has been a great advocate of BSL, helping to raise awareness of the language and the fact it is the main form of communication for a number of people who are deaf.’ Her experience is in championing the underdog - not many high ranking politicians can say they have a background and experience that enables them to do that.
Casdon how is the house building programme? Something like 45k houses should have been built by now to get to the magic housing target set by AR.
